Bought one last year, already in bin. Doesn’t last long.

I got this same one... Seems good quality. There is a cheaper one in asda also... I think £3...

Ditto. Actually have had two of these. Both broke within a year. Still using the second one although the trigger doesn’t work meaning the water stays running continually. Are there any decent alternatives to Hozelock?

Wilko's own brand spray gun for £2.50 works better then these and generates more pressure - longer and stronger stream for jet, centre, shower etc.

Saw this different brand at Poundland for £1
Hoselock I do like but in recent years they have made lower and lower quality versions of their gear. I got one of these amazon.co.uk/Hoz…7G/ while a completley different price bracket still going strong after a couple of years (including last year being left outside in the snow and winter for a couple of months
Paid £8.90 for this a while agho from amazon and very happy with it

Same here. The small round pull mechanism at top of trigger keeps coming off mine. Not useable anymore

What is the red thing at the top used for? I have this spray but it didn't do anything when I push it left or right.
Bought a similar one from Asda for £2. Works really well.

Looks like its the lockable on/off trigger

It's supposed to be a flow adjuster.

I looked at the asda one, it didn't look the same to me- looked to be much poorer quality and now £4 (unless it was a different one you saw?)

No, you didn't, you saw a cheap chinese c**p one which will fail.
Wouldn’t recommend. I had this, it barely lasted 6 months before the trigger failed. Spend more and get the ‘premium’ metal one, lasts far longer and is much sturdier.

So you thought you would chip in then :-)

It adjusts the power of the flow, which I found useful for newly potted plants yesterday. Happy with it so far
