Not a bad price for a 4Gb RAM chromebook.
The G5 is just about out but its twice the price.
Next cheapest price seems to be over £200.

I have this Chromebook, no complaints. Just waiting for the Play Store to arrive.

Pretty sure I've seen the odd 1080p one at around this sort of price.

You need software version 53 or higher and enable developer options, that's what I've read from Google documentation. I will test it tomorrow if I get time in work, we have a couple of Chromebooks in stock and I need to know how to enable the Play Store.

Why the question mark? Surely you know the answer. If you've read that on the site, then you know the answer, the question mark says you're not sure you've read what you've stated. Anyway you should go and learn how to use a question mark correctly.

play store is great running on flip

What are these mainly used for given that there specs arent that high?

I use mine for these:
- general browsing
- email
- youtube
- social media
- browser light gaming
- google docs/drive

The instant on/off + proper keyboard.
The OS is very robust, the 'power wash' will get back to a clean state in under a few minutes. A complete restore, not that you need it, is doable with a USB stick.

With Android coming soon ... it's looking even better for Android lovers.

Well that looks like an amazing deal if it provides those services for that price, I remember doing all that with my old i3 270m laptop which lasted me 4 years, but after experiencing the power of an i7 4790k, I cant even use that laptop to type an email lol.

Same for me. It's not my main PC but if I need to do something online quickly and need a decent keyboard I'll always use .y Chromebook. So quick to turn on and nice to use.
I think the best market for these is the tablet market. If the Playstore is coming and normal Android apps can be used then it's definitely worth a worthy alternative to a tablet.

Is this better than HP stream that was posted before Black Friday for £79.97 and can kids play minecraft in this

Give it a try. Mine has been off the charger all day and still has about 35% battery left.
Those i3/5/7 laptops have their place ... my i7 has Mint Linux on it.

Play Store doesn't work properly on this Chromebook yet. The Play Store is currently in beta on most Chromebooks.

I wouldn't advise using the above unless you really have to try the Play Store in its currently unstable state on most Chromebook. Some older Chromebook will never get the Play Store.

Not if you want to communicate correctly.

For example, there is a big difference between:

1) I helped my uncle Jack off his horse
and
2) I helped my uncle jack off his horse

1. Different, whether that's better or worse depends on your usage criteria.
2. No and Yes, the Yes option is if you want to mess about a lot and install Linux.

There's no debate on using a question mark, you either use one properly or don't, there's not an optional usage for it. The clue is in the word question.

"says demo unit available ?" Is a direct question, it's a sentence asking a question, when you read the question there is a logic breakdown, as the question is asking something the person already knows unless of course they are stupid or forgot, either way it's a question whereby the logic element has failed. If you visit the website it clearly says "Demo Unit Available" the person has obviously seen this otherwise the only other reason for the question is they haven't seen the site and by pure coincidence they are asking if these words have appeared on the website. Of course rather than pose this very lazy question they could have simply looked for themselves. Of course logic tells us the person doesn't know how to use a question mark properly and I have now pointed this out which may or may not help this person in the future.

my point was, why not make it clear in the listing rather than conceal it and give the impression it may be new .... but I guess this is beyond your literal understanding, possibly because your education stopped at the question mark .... maybe why your also so keen to shove it in people's faces even on friendly forums just to make yourself feel important. Pity you, hope you feel better soon or get the help you need.

I think the problem is that you've jumped to the conclusion that they are selling demo models as new. Whereas I believe they are selling new machines but are advising those buying for schools that they have demo ones to lend for trial purposes as well with a view to getting bulk purchases from them.

Can you do low end photo editing

Anyone has some tips on how to unlock these ? I was given one but it is locked to a university and you can only login with stident e-mail address ( [email protected]___.ac.uk) ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think the 1080 display on this one was average by all accounts and the processor didn't quite hit the mark in some respects., shame, as on paper it looked good for the price. I think you can get away with a good 1366 x 768 display on a 13", it doesn't need to be a 1080.

Yes, I've bought a couple of laptops from them in the past, there is no issue with them that way, been around a few years.
I can't comment on how they are with returns or repairs.

You are going to be a very, very busy man if you are going to be a pedant on every misuse of grammar, abbreviation, and punctuation on the internet.

I understood perfectly what he meant and he did it in far fewer words than someone like you would have achieved. I agree it's ugly, but much communication these days is lazy and strives to get the message across in as few words and letters as possible.
