Right guys my computer is up and running and I'm reporting back to you from my new HP laptop.Very easy to set up as the computer literally guides you through it step by step via audio instructions. All I have done so far is download Chrome and so far I am happy with it at this stage.I know it is too early to tell but first impressions are very good for a basic laptop. My main purpose was to do basic web surfing and watching You tube etc. on it so not expecting too much for it.I'm not very tech savvy so cannot comment further but if the battery lives upto half of the 10 hours advertised I'd be more than happy.
Please feel free to ask any questions as I explore it further.

Thanks sigma....I saw that deal and was very tempted at the time but was holding out for one of these ecodes.Thought they would be one soon on the website but had a sneaky feeling that the price may go back up. I think I just got lucky and saved myself £20.
Like I mentioned above if you've ordered in the past month then just ring them up and hopefully you should get the £20 back.
What’s the difference with not having a SSD?

Once you go ssd you can't go back because the difference in speed is significant. But there is additional cost involved so wouldn't expect it in something at this price point.
Cold, not the Sunway TaihuLight

Honestly don't think I've ever seen a new laptop that's better for £179
Sad to say that I got a much better laptop than this, for about the same price, during Black Friday in 2016. Infact there was a similar one to this priced at £139 delivered if I remember correctly.

Just bought one of these to add to my vast pile of PC's.
I use these cheapo laptops for use on my backpacker type world travels.
They pay for themselves whilst traveling many times over.

I have ordered this one, It hard to believe that you can get a reasonable laptop for under £180, remember paying a grand over 20 years ago for a laptop and people moan about something like this for the price. Going to drop an ssd in mine, anyone know how easy it is on this model?

"Back packer type world travels"
ie With a small suitcase/ hotels and Uber, I've noticed the new Backpackers like me don't walk much these days!
Does anyone know if i can use staff discount with the code
Not bad for the price - although stepping up your price would definitely help - as the A4 laptop is unfortunately incredibly slow and is barely better than an AMD E series chip, which are notoriously slow.

Gaming is dead on this in case anyone was wondering :P
Looking to buy a laptop for mom for 200max, is this okay for web browsing, skype and movies?
Its a bad product to be marketed and really not fit for purpose. Any Windows laptop needs additional resources for antivirus which slows things down significantly in a basic PC. This laptop from HUKD struggles with basic tasks ! ( I bought it) and the processor has a passmark of 3211 while the processor in the Hp has a passmark of 1798. So its likely to struggle even more !! Both have win 10 home, 4GB RAM and will have cheaper 5400 RPM HDD so relatively comparable hardware. Save some more money and buy a better one if you can. SSD might make it better but for 6-9 months only..updates etc will slow it further. I use OneDrive for basic Excel and Word files sync across devices which does take even more resources...forget about photos or other big files...
Thanks for this needed a computer for basic work tasks and this ticks the boxes

Buy a new one at £179 and return it on old receipt using 30 days return policy. Good luck!
Can anyone who actually own this laptop can comment on the performance e.g basic web browsing, YouTube, storing pictures/videos?
...it's not an app problem - it's if you want to run windows10 then go and make a cup of tea while it boots up 🙄

Unless you wanna install Linux - such as 'Mint' which has a user interface similar to Win 10

Had an EZ Book Pro, found the build quality to be absolutely terrible. Ended up selling it because of it.

So many problems with it, including the fact that the lid was conducting electricity when the adapter was plugged in.
Bought ezbook pro 3 last year for wife. Great for price. Would of bought another for me if guaranteed in UK. Don't want to put all eggs in one Basket. Got 2nd hand Chromebook for £100 instead. Great for what I need it for.

Plug it into the mains and run your fingers along the lid. Notice how it starts vibrating when you run your fingers across it.

Would love some opinion of people who actually own this rather the ones speculating how it will run...

If you've got a processor with a passmark of 3200 and it's struggling to perform basic tasks then the problem isn't the processor. I can't see what you've got because the link doesn't work but I'd be wondering if your system is faulty from what you're saying.

Not sure why you expect SSD to improve it for only a few months either.
