Intel Celeron N3060 @ 1.60GHz - 993 Passmark.
A joke at full price and still a joke imo.
OK for reading Trumps Tweets I guess.
Posting this on a 14" with 5620 Passmark.

IMO, the W10 environment demands very heavy but essential maintenance.
Constant Security Updates.
Constant new “Features” install.
Necessity of constant Virus Scans; I use Windows Defender & Free Malwarebytes.
Necessity of regular back up.

To avoid spending half your life doing these maintenance chores, you need the best chip and fastest disk you can reasonably afford together with a good chunk of memory.

After swapping out my first HDD for an SSD several laptops ago, I never again bought a laptop without an SSD or where I could not easily swap HDD for SSD.
My Malwarebytes full scan takes 2m 33s.
Reasonable data storage; I don’t see the point of huge laptop storage to backup, lose, or break.

14” FHD is my minimum size screen and
14” Screen is my Maximum weight for a Laptop.
The performance bottle neck just moves elsewhere so for my current Laptop, USB3 for backup was essential.
I prefer a backlit keyboard.

I am not a gamer so at the time of purchase:
• Lenovo 510S
ticked all my boxes.

I7-6567U PassMark 5620
256GB SSD
8GB Memory
14” 1920 x 1080 IPS FHD display
USB3
Backlit Keyboard.
1.7kg

• But I would not buy my Laptop now;
Not only because it is more expensive than when I bought it.

I would look for and/or wait for an 8th gen I7 deal because the 8th Generation Intels are a huge performance leap.

PassMark’s now lowest rated 8th Gen I7 comes in at 8021 compared to my 510s at 5620.
PassMark’s now lowest rated 8th Gen I7 comes in at 8021 compared to I7-7500U at 5214

PassMark’s currently highest rated 8th Gen I7 comes in at 16288! That may only be for high end gamers etc.

Here endeth my sermon…
