It might, but also a big bag of cocaine, might.

I use a MacBook Pro personally, and think the majority of Windows laptops are awful, but don’t rip a £140 one to bits and think you have some kind of insider info because you have found a cheap nasty thing from China.

p.s. I know my MBP is actually manufactured in China too, before some smart ar$e points that out

There are loads of perfectly good laptops from China. Your Macbook is one of them. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro would be another one.

I agree 100% about the Mi, but that’s not what you can buy in this price range. The £165 thing will be equally as awful as this, but not warranted by HP or Currys, and hasn’t had UK tax paid on it.

And whilst my MacBook and the cheap thing you found are both made in China, they are not connected in any other way - it’s an enormous Country.

Actually the "£165 thing" is pretty good. Excellent for an entry level laptop and vastly better than this. The slightly more expensive Teclast F7 has also been extremely well reviewed and another excellent example of a high quality entry level laptop at an economical price. It's just Apple folk seem to think everything has to cost £1,000+ when a huge part of what you're paying is simply Apple's (massive) profit margin.

It’s not vastly better than this. It has a better processor (marginal improvements I expect) but will still no doubt have terrible battery life, terrible WiFi reception and probably an awful screen, even though higher res.

Most of Apple’s profits are generated through iPhone sales, I have an HTC U11. I buy what I consider to be the best, regardless of brand, and MacBook Pros are pretty much the best (although ‘gamers’ won’t agree as they would prefer a plastic laptop with better ’graffix’...).

I have nothing more to say now, it’s junk but it’s a good price, decent post from the OP.

How can you say that something is or isn't "vastly better" when you haven't even tried it and are just guessing?

For someone who says that they buy "the best", your Macbook can't even run the latest triple A games....

That's the second one of my posts you have replied to without reading.

I'm a 45 year old man, why would I want to play games?

MacBook Pro is the World's best laptop, it's not up for debate.

It's good to have a break from staring at spreadsheets etc. Macbook Pro is hardly the world's best laptop - more like the world's biggest rip off. You also have to carry around a huge suitcase full of all the ports and adaptors that you need for it.

Disagree. Macbooks are built extremely well. Most laptops cannot touch them in build quality.

They're also totally reliable.

You sure do pay a premium but as mentioned, you get much better components and build (and no I am not talking about simply the CPU ram, etc.) Look into the motherboards, ssd, display type and you will soon realise.

Yes with pc you get better marketing waffle, great CPUs, high amount of ram and graphics card because they know consumers purchase almost solely on this information..... But the rest of the laptop is completely poor. Chasis, battery, screen, plasticy build.

You are the reason subpar laptops continue being made...

The TVs in the hotels I stay in during business trips don't have wireless.

How to propose I watch films from my Macbook Pro on it without a suitcase full of dongles and adaptors?

Also where do I plug the projector in when I'm doing a presentation to clients?

I don't know how important these business meetings are, but guess you must be pretty big time if you've managed to buy yourself a £165 Chinese laptop.

Also, I guess your 'suitcase' is a Lidl carrier bag, with you struggling to find space for a tiny adaptor or two.

I'm really not wasting time arguing with you anymore, the laptops that float your boat are trash, let's leave it at that.

When Apple friends see my HP Spectre 360 the always ask which one it is and it looks and feels so much better and quicker than their MacBook Pro. More so when they see the touchscreen and pen support among other things. It's just that Apple folk in general (not everyone) are clueless to the existence of better stuff outside the Apple world. Fine for me it's their money.

Just get a Miracast dongle or even better a cheap wireless projector from Lenovo. Works great. Nice to see the Apple folks eyes pop out when you use your cheap wireless projector that looks and works great. Not everything cheap is useless. Have used them for a while while teaching in the UK and abroad. Many offices have just single projector and carrying my small wireless projector gives me a dual screen setup to run from my phone or laptop. Works great to split it and tilt to the hotel room white roof to watch movies or anything else whole relaxing in the room.

Clearly it isn't possible then with a Macbook Pro. Hardly the greatest laptop in the world when it can't even do such basic things.

As far as Windows machines go, the Spectre is very nice. I thought the black and gold one looked stunning. Having actually handled one though, I honestly think it felt a bit creaky compared to a MBP.

I also really hate Windows after switching to macOS as well, it’s really frustrating in comparison. I only switched to Macs about 3 or 4 years ago, had used Windows in it's various guises since 1994 when I got my first ‘proper’ PC. I still use Windows at work sadly, so really can make direct comparisons.

As I mentioned earlier, I’m not a typical ‘Apple folk’ - in my experience they tend to have an iPhone, and perhaps a Granny Smiths!

I have 3 Macs, because I love using them, an iPad Pro because it’s the best tablet money can buy, but use an Android phone because iPhones are awful in my opinion and experience.

Yes I have the copper and ash grey one, that actually looks black and gold.

People are different, just like everyone had different cars and under wears preference is different, so too with devices. Great that you are happy with your choices, that's what matters after all and not what some random chap like me on the internet thinks. Have a nice day.

Check out the Lenovo led wireless projectors, they are pretty decent and cheap. If you want more higher end them go laser projector (Xiaomi) ultrashort throw. They work with laptops, android phones and iPhones and Mac. But totally wireless the Lenovo cheap one and no input ports. Unlike the costlier Xiaomi laser projector which had ports.
