Depends if that processor is really worth an extra £70 odd quid...

Recently ordered from John Lewis:

johnlewis.com/hp-…416?

Had considered a pricier (£299) ASUS with a bigger screen (though HDD)...however still prefer this HP with SSD

argos.co.uk/pro…270

Also considered a cheaper (£248.97) Lenovo variant but poor screen and no SSD:

currys.co.uk/gbu…tml?

Therefore the John Lewis peace of mind and HP brand was pretty good given the cut price £100 discount

Useful info. Weirdly, only thing putting me off the JL one you got is I've told myself to spend £500+
Isn't this better from Ebuyer, similar model with double the SSD storage and is cheaper?
The 4gb of RAM lets this one down a bit, and from past experience HPs can be quite tricky to disassemble (and the RAM is often soldered!)

Good news!
Ryzen 3 is a poor next to 5. Anyway for £5 more you can have this Lenovo with Ryzen 5 (quad vs dual core and much better graphics) and double the SSD. The build quality of both of these machines is average as they're basic consumer machines.

Then I suggest you wait for a IPS-FHD/8gb/256GB/Ryzen5/Vega8 version.
There have been several of those variants here in the last 6 months HP & Lenovo.
I got this (via offer posted here) for £400 just before Xmas. HP14-cm0999na

1. You're welcome.
2. On my aforementioned hp14:
2.1. Windows Quick Scan 1m 10s for 24791 files.
2.2. malwarebytes free 1m 31 for 266914 items.
3. You might want to also consider the huawei-matebook-d-14. Often £560 on Amazon
3.1. See Huawei D14 previous post.
3.2.1. Owners of the H D14 have commented on that thread.
3.2. Many on here like the look of the H D14. See other hukd threads. Many tech reviews to google.
Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to buy.
