Steal at this price. Well good laptop
Bought this laptop from AO last week at full price and even then it was great value. It runs great and can handle demanding task without any issue. I did however reinstall a clean copy of windows to remove all of the bloatware and junk that comes with it preinstalled this was also ideal because it doesn't have the latest build of windows (may update) which would take up some space on your ssd drive where it would save it as windows old.

The biggest surprise to this is it contains a 512gb nvme drive Instead of a normal sata ssd which is also stated on the hp website.

No backlit keyboard was a downside but overall for the money it's a no brainer plus you can sell the office 364 subscription it comes with to claw some money back if needed aswell
Cheers waaqii. Very VERY tempting!
So is the battery life the only negative against this laptop? I'm not concerned about look/weight as it wouldn't be leaving the house anyway!
Does this come with Type C? Also anyone know if speakers are anything special?

No touchscreen - cold!
I have the HP Zbook 14 G2 i5, how does this stack up against that? I am looking to slightly downgrade but get a newer model.

I updated to the latest Windows then just used a program to delete the old Windows files circa 30gb or so, no need for a fresh install. No real bloatware either other than a few games which took about 5 minutes to uninstall them all.

The battery life isn't even bad. Medium brightness with 50 50 video viewing and browsing you can expect 4 to 4 and a half hours, which on a laptop this powerful is by no means bad. It also recharges quickly

How do I do that
Can you PM please
I don't think anyone will beat the spec this machine offers in this price bracket. The chassis is a bit plasticy and hardly sleek but raw performance, unbeatable.
Its showing 429
There is a eBay code 10%off
Oops i thought direct price, bought one heat added
Nice. Been looking for a good deal. Ordered. Heat.
Bought this laptop two weeks ago for work for £419 - and thought I had a good deal. I'm not even bothered about the price drop though because it's a very decent machine - and a steal at this price. Only if you're wanting something that looks and feels premium should you give it a miss. Would recommend on all other counts

Well that's more than enough. I'm interested in buying this laptop, mainly because it supports so much RAM memory needed when working VMware and HyperWare and also because of the SSD memory, which at 512 is huge.Thank you m3racer123 for your reply.

Great NVMe SSD but **need evidence that its IPS**

Looks like it IS IPS (or HP's version of it). So for £390 (if you don't mind HP**) this is very hot AND will sell very quickly.
"35.6 cm (14") diagonal FHD IPS anti-glare micro-edge WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080)"
from support.hp.com/gb-…503

**My current HP (4/5 years old) has a similar chasis. CPU fan needed changing (a real PITA but doable at home with care); hinges have both gone but the hinge on this deal laptop looks like a different design so hopefully should be more robust.

EDIT: 9 left at time of posting

This is quite tempting! Any opinions on how well this would handle the occasional more demanding task such as video editing etc?

Can we expect this to last 4/5 years hassle-free? Or is it likely to be plagued with issues once the one year warranty has ended?

With budget laptops -that's what this is really- its a bit of a lottery. You can get a 3year HP warranty for about +£30. Shouild it last 4/5 years? Yes. Will it? With care I'd say yes.

EDIT: £50 (or less) for 3 year warranty. Care Pack code is U4819E

Do you know which HP care pack that relates this particular model? I've seen an array of them being sold at different price points on the HP site
