Refurbished Products
Refurbished products are all 100% OK! In fact, they represent amazing value for money, especially as we offer all our refurbished products with a full ONE YEAR warranty. These products may be classed as refurbished for a number of reasons:
They may have been previously sold, and subsequently returned to one of our parent stores and not put back on sale for cosmetic packaging reasons. This is often as little as a broken seal.
Alternatively, they may simply have incurred a minor amount of cosmetic packaging damage during handling in the day to day running of our business.
Some items may have been returned to our parent stores with a reported fault or where a customer had difficulty in using the product.
All of these products are returned to our certified testing facilities where they are examined, fully tested, and if necessary, repaired and repackaged. Only suitable products, as classified by our professional inspection and testing process, are then made available for sale through Argos Outlet.
Refurbished products may be non-pristine, for example:
On occasion some items may show signs of minimal use, which may include minor cosmetic marks which do not affect the functionality in any way.
Although most of our refurbished products are sold in their original manufacturers packaging, there may be occasions, due to packaging damage, where plain white or brown packaging may be used.
In a small number of instances, it may have been necessary to substitute some original manufacture accessories with generic compatible models, for example TV remote controls.
Similarly, some original instructions or user manuals may be printed or photocopies of the original.
The fact that we guarantee the products for a full year means that you can purchase with full peace of mind.
Product guarantee
This product is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for a period of 1 year. This does not cover the product where fault is due to misuse, abuse, use in contravention of the instructions, or where the product has been subject of unauthorised modifications or alterations or has been the subject of commercial use. In the event of a problem with the product within the guarantee period please contact us. If you've had the product for up to 1 year, we'll repair the product or, if that's not possible, give you a replacement or, if that's not possible, a refund.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

Last week's thread @ £149.99 may add value hotukdeals.com/dea…937

Brilliant price. No Anti virus needed .

I'm pretty much sure that sizes are incorrect. D-8cm????

Considering I use Chrome exclusively, and rarely need to use traditional desktop apps, I'm willing to give Chrome OS a go.

But if it doesn't work out, can I install Ubuntu on it?

i had this chromebook it would only charge if left turned on brand new from argos it got hot so returned for refund.

Ordered this yesterday, great price!

Would any of them cope at all if we had a 38°C summer?

still showing as £149 for me?

It's extra 10% off if you add to basket. Windows can't be installed to these so you would need to get used to a very different OS that is only good for when you are connected to the internet.

Same here

build quality anyone?

you can do most things forget excel or using it for logmein.

Great deal, Bought it.
Discount added at 'basket' stage.

Perfect for me, Google sync with Android Tablet and phone. Browsing won't be slowed by windows crap,
I use Google Docs and Drive. Most of my time is used in browsing, will back up downloads to external drive when HD starts getting full.

NOTE: Listing now states... "Limited quantity remaining" Dont complain when they are gone.

This is a HOT deal. I love these things, and Chrome OS keeps getting better and better.

If anyone here has Windows 8 and wants to try Chrome OS now, go to the menu in Chrome and select "Relaunch Chrome in Windows 8 mode", now that's crafty of Google, you get fullscreen Chrome OS mode in Windows 8.

It's ok, nothing special, general plastic build, don't drop it.

Yes you can run Ubuntu and a few other Linux distros on this Chromebook, Linux runs within Chrome OS, it works well, I've done it on this actual Chromebook in work. I suggest you Google install Linux on HP 14 Chromebook as there's always updated methods to getting Chrome.

I just bought an awesome i7 Haswell laptop but I still want this Chromebook I think I have to get it at this price.

Have you tried Pushbullet? Try that if you have an Android phone and use Chrome browser. Pushbullet is in the Play Store and is a Chrome extension. Pushbullet rocks! at least I think it does

You can video call using Google Hangouts, and it's free to video conference with up to 10 people for free, you can't do that for free on Skype.

You can use Google Docs for Excel sheets and Chrome Remote Desktop for remote access to and from ChromeOS, ok it's not Logmein, so if you need that you're out of luck, but it achieves the same purpose.

I tried adding it to the basket and didn't get 10% discount. What am I doing wrong?

OK this is what I did

1. Went to the link on HUKD this showed be the Chromebook
2. I clicked on "Add to Basket" not the "Buy it now" button
3. Was taken to "Your Shopping Basket Screen" and the item in my Basket was the Chromebook @£149 and a couple of messages saying "You will get 10% off"

Subtotal (1 item): £149.99, Discounts: - £15, Total: £134.99

I hit pay etc and it went through at this £134.99 free Parcelforce delivery and returns were free via Collect+ service when I had a duff Nexus 7 from Argos Ebay

looks like this would be excellent for kids work and research on the net for when the big daddy computer is being utilized efficiently for gaming:D

Dab in if you want one, listing says...
"More than 10 available / 50 sold in 24 hours... Limited quantity remaining"

& I find Google Docs better than open office.

Would this be able to play media from a NAS?

Did anyone receive theirs today? Thoughts?
I missed my delivery, and will have to go and collect mine from the depot.

'Parcelforce 24'
Mines well on its way
but no Idea where it set off from @19:26

Just got mine. It's been opened by a refurb company (D&J Henry), so it's not new. However, all the plastic wrappings and power cable ties are all intact, so it doesn't seem to have been opened by any previous customers. The box had "Manager Special"sticker on it, so it would be interesting to know how much they were sold at.

Also, just had a quick play, and noticed that in the settings, you can increase the resolution from 1366x768 to 1536x864 - might make better use of the 14" screen!

Parcelforce 24 Express next day.
States Saturday delivery is 7.50 extra?
Mine is still shown as @Nottingham delivery depot since last night?

Mine arrived today. Might as well be brand new!

No windows crap slowing down my browsing now.
Altec Lansing speakers are great. SD Card reader, 3 USB HDMI, Network, Wifi, Blutooth, all working fine.
Fast boot/shutdown...Battery life good, Runs cool unlike my old laptop

Where are the settings for resolution I looked in settings _> Advanced

Any good players for Video (AVI, MKV etc) ideally with DTS downsampling like MX Player on Android.

Mine was HJHenry too there was a letter inside the laptop saying to contact DJ Henry for warantee.

PSU cable was vercoed up using the built in tie but the PSU cable had been used as the cables were not as tidy as a factory pack.

Laptop looks perfect no marks, box said manager special. argos.

Exterior box had been opened and sealed with tape.

Seems fine for now will check for overheating etc. Notice it applied an update on first use- The update was superfast!

How does the power button work it seems to do >1 thing
