Don't know how the CPU fares but potentially a good budget laptop with full HD.

However if the screenshots are accurate this has the usual HP keyboard where they've used a US layout but with UK keys, meaning \ and a few others are in different places.

Probably fine for most users but touch typists or programmers might find it frustrating.

Hot! How do I get the cashback?!

good deal but doesn't seem to want to give me the 20% off

Found a small glitch on this - I wanted to get it, but didn't want to use a credit account for the cashback offer, I had signed up for a credit account before so I went to pay, selected the credit account, put in the discount for 10% off electronics, then switched it back to 'pay in full'. When I did that, the 10% off was still there - so I got it for £318 delivered which seems a bargain to me.

Superficially looks an excellent deal, almost too good a deal as if there is something wrong with the model and they want shot of them quickly but I will look for guidance from others on that.

I am intrigued by this but 128gb is not a lot of storage

Ordered on the phone and they confirmed the 20% is credited to your first statement and it can all be paid off without interest within 12 months

I felt the same way, but I thought I'd take a punt on this one. It's just what I need - not massively powerful, but passmark on the CPU is 4000, 4GB RAM is just enough for what I'll be using it for (hoping I can upgrade) and the 128gb SSD is fine for me. Bonus that it's a full HD screen. As you say, feels that something must be wrong with it, I just hope not!

Yes, JL are offering it for £529.99 here.
Don't know if JL price match Very.

Neither JL nor Very spec claims IPS so I don't believe it is.

I survived with 128GB SSD on a Z930; you just have to disciplined with your data dispersal which is quick via USB3 to other media. If you're replacing a current laptop, you could buy a caddy and use your current drive for back up and or storage.
My current Lenovo 510s has 256GB

I get the feeling HPs are not easy to self upgrade.

This AMD A10-9620P passmark at 3,924 is better than the Intel Core i3-6006U @ 2.00GHz at 3,131
in the MEDION AKOYA i3, 15.6", 8GB, 1TB HDD, Full HD 1920x1080 Laptop £359.99 deal posted on the 3rd Dec.

I sympathise with the poster that didn't want credit. I don't get the reason Very don't offer you pay up front simply with a Paypal / CC and surcharge you if needs be. I don't get the benefit to Very of free credit for a year for those paying it off over that year.

Good deal with the 20% off. Should be hotter.
This deal has been around since BF I think.

AMD are dreadful slow get a I3 at least

Have to open credit acc though. No thanks

Eh? It's faster on the passmark

How does the 20% refund work, I'm at the checkout but it's not mentioned, I did see it mentioned earlier before I logged in. Is it only for new customers or anything? should I see it mentioned at checkout?

EDIT I've now entered the code and it's switched to 12 months pay. is it safe to proceed now? Still no mention of refund so I'm scared :-p

EDIT 2: ah now i see the credit mentioned. I'm impulse buying a laptop....so just nervous!

EDIT 3: chickened out at last minute as not sure how easy hard drive updgrade is and coudln't find a video! on my dell inspiron i'd to removee screen, keyboard and motherboard, can't be much worse I suppose but with no guide i'd be nervous!

I did it this morning.
The credit account doesn't ask for any bank details. I thinks it's just about their terms and conditions.
Spoke to advisor after I pressed the wrong button and ordered it. Think he said I can pay it off in full on the 14th of December, which I will do

I believe it is 10% off only on electricals not 20% when taking out a Very credit account.

This is a completely different offer to the first order one. It's definitely 20%.

Any idea if you could add to the RAM and SSD on this?

Can you explain? I don't understand your point

I’ve ordered the laptop after applying the code and the 12 month BNPL appeared, but on my order it’s still showing as full price. Is everyone else’s?

Original Poster

It’ll show £348 outstanding just now but by end December they will credit your account roughly £70 giving you an outstanding balance of £280 you can then pay it off in full or pay it up interest free over 12 months

Brill, thanks.

Yes they just told me that on Support although they said it could take till 25th Jan to add the £70 credit

How is it, would you recommend? How is screen quality and button feel?

I’ve been using mine for a few hours and it’s been great. The speed is incredible, I timed how long it would take to restart then boot up and for me to open an app, it took 43 seconds from clicking restart to get back onto Microsoft edge.

I’ve had a £400 ASUS for the last 6 years with an i5 processor and 8gb ram running Windows 10, that takes about 5 minutes to do anything once turned on.

The keyboard feels great and is very smooth, as is the touch pad. I’d prefer the status lights for num lock etc above the keyboard. Battery seems ok but not as good as my old ASUS. Speakers are adequate for a laptop.

Very happy with it so far.

Bought this on black Friday and have just had to send it back due to a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen.

Saying that as soon as I get the refund back into my account I'll be buying another, it was quick enough and felt pretty premium for this money.

So you just get store credit? Not cashback you can spend eslwehere?

You buy it on credit which is then reduced by 20%. You can then chose to either pay it off in one one go or take advantage of a year interest free.

£399.99 now

You are right I stand corrected - thanks.

Are you sure they reduce the price by 20%?
My understanding was that you have a credit limit of £750 (for example). You buy a computer for £500. You then have £250 credit available.
They then return you £100 to your credit limit, so your credit limit is now £350.

That's the way it was was explain to me!

I hope you're correct as I would like a laptop on your terms! I'm going to phone them again to check.

Got an email from Very today saying this:

Thanks for purchasing the HP 15-bw094na, AMD...that comes with credit back to your account. Just so you know, we will be processing your credit of £70.00 by 25/01/2018.

Ok. A bit confusing here. I have spoken to an advisor who tells me that the account gets credited with 20% so in effect a Saving of 20%. However, this is different to what I was told before when I rang them. I have recorded this conversation, so may take a chance on this.

EDIT: I retried a couple of hours later and it just worked.

Rats - can't get this to work.

Not sure why - it doesn't mention it's for new accounts only but when I try to apply the code I get:

The Buy Now Pay Later coupon MFKTR is not valid

Is there anything 'special' I need to do?
