Here you go, I didn't know if Ryzen 3 CPU is good enough for you. you didn't mention which processor or type of usage.

Genuine question as I'm after a low-range laptop but not a crappy one that slows down after a few Windows update, can you link any laptops that come close to this price?

Just get something with Intel i3, or i5 if you have the budget and don't forget about SSD and you're good to go. Just don't get these crappy underpowered laptops, they're not even good for browsing as your phone outperforms them.

The Lenovo 330s range is quite new, has Full-HD IPS display. and USB type C. Current Gen AMD Ryzen 3 chip is as good as the i3. More details in that post.

That's a honest quote, other manufacturers lied about the battery life, quoting up to 10 hours. Realistically, 4-5 hours actual usage. A large screen laptop with a 2 cell battery is about right. Edit: around 4 hours for moderate use.

According to Lenovo, the IdeaPad 330S supports Quick Charging and can get two hours of battery life after being plugged in for 15 minutes. However, to use this function, you will have to get an optional 65-watt power adapter from Lenovo.

There are loads of alternatives around the £200-£250 mark - I personally would prefer even this: ebuyer.com/838…kuk - has a decent (quad core) processor and eMMC drive so would be quicker to boot up, etc.. but it has my less storage so depends on whether you're happy with that trade off.
Incidentally, ebuyer also have a similar specced HP to this one for £199 here

Edit* - just noticed this deal is for full HD display, which makes it a better deal than I first thought

I have been on the fence for a couple of weeks now on what to go for and it seems if you want a decent “entry level” laptop then a 14” ips hd 8th gen i3 ssd 4gb is £400. Whenever you read comments people say things like “for £50 more you could get x y z” but that is the same with a car, you pay more you get more, it all depends on budget and needs.

I went for the deal that I actually Posted in the end because my daughter will love the “2 in 1” capabilitiy and we went to Currys PC World to try it out and the screen is awesome and that is important to a child more than the frames per second capabilities.

I ended up paying about £400 so I’m happy
Fine for the money. No need for 8 gig ram for normal everyday use.
todays 15% off code PRESENTS is working on this, makes it a bit more of a bargain !
