It's not a bloody HD, my 5" phone has higher resolution than this. Stop repeating marketing lies.

It comes to £339.14 for me? that would be over £40 more.

Also this has Radeon R5 which isn't much worse than the R7?.. game-debate.com/gpu…230

Agreed, its a max 1366 x 768 display. Nevertheless, from experience for 15" this is the optimum resolution for myself.

It's OK-ish watching cat videos on youtube, but 768 pixels means that even Word toolbar takes third of the screen area.

I'm afraid I don't have time for watching cat videos. I am using word now on 768 pixel height and it takes up about a 6th of the height and about 2/3 page is visible at 100% zoom?

I think you might be getting confused with 800x600?

Long story short, 768 belongs on 15" CRT screen connected to 486DX66 and Windows 95, not "HD" laptop in 2014. Period.

Sadly people are mostly idiots and believe this is actually "HD" increasing sales, so manufacturers don't bother with offering higher res screens.

I think the max resolution on a 486DX66 was 640x480. However, you are right, Full HD is 1920x1080.

Not with SVGA card but it's getting really off topic now so never mind.

I'm surprised with the lack of heat this is getting. I know there has been a lot of laptops advertised lately but this one does seem to be very good value for sub £300.

if you don't need the dedicated chip it just uses electricity for no benefit during the lifetime of laptop.
