What are you loiking to use it for?

Work and football manager, was looking to.spend £600 though
I have this, the mouse buttons are terrible. I bought 2, 1 had a faulty display connection and had to sent back, Currys got that fixed.
The fan exhaust is at the the top of keyboard "piece" which is very strange. The fan is very loud.
Pros: excellent speed and performance, good weight, thin and sleek
Btw I bought 2 from Currys in Nov 2019 for £480 a piece
Hope this helps
whats better this processor or the i5-1035G7?

If it is just word processing and excel then yes, this would be more than enough.

However you will also be able to find lower specs than this at your budget which will play FM and use MS office programs.

GPD Win Max if you want more gaming but yes you don't need to spend a lot to get football manager playable.
I would have been all over this if it had a dedicated graphics card!

The i7-1065G7 in this is a bit better (maybe 5-10%). Your experience in practice will depend on things like cooling and what task you're asking it to do.
Crappy plastic build, terrible screens and poor trackpads have historically been hallmarks of these base HPs, and the latest processors aren’t going to change that. Extremely poor deal at £700.

Years ago HP was my choice, over last 10 years I find HP build quality quite low end. Even business range is a bit poor. Dell business range seems to be lot better option. Consumer Dell hit and miss really. I think Spectre 360 is the only solid piece I would consider, but HP corner cutting just puts me off
How much of a difference is Windows 10 in S Mode to normal Windows 10. I know it is a More secure, lighter OS and stops you installing any apps not on the Microsoft store and also forces you to use Edge browser. Yes it can be disabled (and apparently you cannot turn it back on again), but what else is missing from it to make it a lighter OS than normal Windows 10. I have read Windows 10 in S Mode only takes up about 5GB of memory.

Main one is only being able to install apps from the Store. So a bit crap really. Deffo turn it off.
You would get a lot better used/refurbished for £700 than this. Even manages to look boring and average. The build quality of my previous HP spectre was just about worth £700 but not fantastic and went back and forth to Curry’s repair centre 3 times before they finally offered a full refund. Wouldn’t touch HP again and definitely wouldn’t buy their midrange equipment after my experience with their top end model.
