I think this is the same one others and I bought just before Xmas that had the i5 chip in it instead of the i3, but it was £279 iirc.

Mine (i5) has been fine so far, though I installed another 8gb of ram (£20, eBay). Been used for video editing without issue.
Looking for a newer laptop as this ( HP DV6 Pavilion ) is now getting on a bit and i liked the spec of this one.Whilst i have never really used mine to anywhere near its full potential i dont want to get one thats under spec of what i want it for.Which is surfing the web, watching the odd video or film and emails. So its probably fair to say this should be fine, the Pavilion is 500gb ( 448 available ) and space wise i have used 140gb so the SSD would need to be bigger i would say ! but i dont want to stretch my for a256gb machine.Whilst i could get a bigger one put in if i had to claim on the warranty before the year was up it will be void.Voting hot still

The CPU in this is superior to the one in the average and with the price of SSD’s currently, I’d go with this one every day of the week.

I meant the laptop you were referring to in your link is a Ryzen 3 chip, this has a far superior chip, so not like for like. Included SSD makes this the perfect mid ranger

Hi u defo ain't getting 500 ssd for that price. Prob need spend abit more tbh. At 300 u will be either i3 or ryzen 3, 1080p screen with TN panel and 128ssd possibly max.

128ssd is too low. 250ssd is better than 128. i can then just swap it for a 500ssd later
128 SSD is more than sufficient. I realise that people always ask for 500GB, 1TB storage but never really use the storage real estate...if you have got larger files, you just transfer to an external....

Like I said u can maybe get a refurb for 300 with a spec u want but low chance prob be grade c condition. New, u will need to spend 400 or more for the spec u want.

I purchase this also.

Any tutorials on how to add more RAM. Got as far as speccing out the RAM needed. 2666 DDR4 I believe.

To anybody else thinking about purchase: 4GB RAM is usable out of the box. Had no issues. Mine came with the 10th gen I5. Keyboard is poor, mushy and cheap plastic flex. many would not type much on this. I've connected an old apple keyboard to sort that. Screen is HD, TN panel I think with manageable viewing angles for the price. Storage can be upgraded if needed.

Fan comes on on boot more than I thought it would. I've mainly used Fanless Celeron and Core M3 laptops so may be normal.
