Not better than BF deals, but still better than a lot of other similar priced deals that have been in here lately.

Personally, I'm fed up of HP laptops - my Pavilion ended up like trigger's broom in no time at all
Seen at roughly same price about 2 months before. Value for 💰? Yes. Decent for the basic user (browsing, word editing, YouTube video watching). Good for students.
The recent hp keylogger controversy means that the value of hp laptops will plummet in value, in my opinion. Irrespective of whether a particular model is affected.

The furore will soon die down. But worth keeping an eye out to see if the retailers panic.

Why would they? The software isn't unique to HP.

We've purchased have a few of these at my work, nice build quality and well priced but I found them a little sluggish at times. I would not be to concerned about the keylogger issue, simply remove the Synaptics Touchpad Driver as Windows will certainly run the device without it but if you require the driver then install HPs recommended sp81891.exe driver.
It's an ok deal, not a hot deal though. Worth buying for someone who just needs a basic, non-gaming laptop. Might be able to to play some games like the sims (). No idea if it'll be delivered before xmas though.

Its for a non new age gamer, someone who plays basic games like bingo and puzzle games ect.

If only every potential buyer were as sensible as you.
Thanks, ordered. Been looking at a cheap laptop for in laws all around 250 all with celeron/emmc/low resolution, so 299 is good for me with 'proper' CPU and hdd drive. Should make the in-law support experience a little easier
Guys do you think it's worth the extra £150 for this one? It's only for the daughter for school work and roblox etc.
