Whether a DVD drive is needed or not splits opinion. One thing you can do with it if you DON'T need it is to replace with a hard drive caddy. Saves lugging round an external caddy. Not sure how the without-DVD drives laptop work... e.g. is the space for a DVD drive there or is the configuration totally different...

wasn't this posted yesterday with the no DVD version?

Yes it was. Personally, I prefer a DVD drive and it's a deal breaker for me.
Thanks OP!

people still use cd drives...?

Should be able to play blu-ray discs by now surely. Heat added anyway.

MUSICRAB - cheers for the links to the HP claims pages.... good to know this promo is definitely still alive!

Will the which? trial also work to reduce by a further £20?

Any feedback on real world battery life?

They have change the screen res on the non-DVD version now "15.6" - 1366 x 768 Screen"

yep, they've changed the deal, rather than just saying out-of-stock.

Hmmm. Prices are going up. In the meantime this is a cheap(ish) HP with 256GB SSD. Note its not FHD and the CPU would be sluggish (if it weren't for the SSD...) But it has a DVD drive :-) £287 @technoworld

Double the RAM and an i5 for another £30 or so, surely a better deal?

Edit - price difference obviously between the revised price of the OP deal (£365) and this one.

Yer, I posted 2 FHD deals, 1 with DVD and 1 without DVD. I think your link is not FHD.
