If the screen is 1080P its a cracking deal. Not clear on the site.
Anything less than that, it's still fair IMO.

Same price on ebuyer, has a more detailed description of specs there
ebuyer.com/805…BwE

Product number 2SY44ES on ebuyer suggest full HD screen.

It's a good deal, but nothing too special to be honest. The i7 on this is only a dual core (like the i5/i3 equivalents), so it's a little bit of a bait. That being said, the 256GB SSD is a great feature.
I would instead suggest that you save £80 and go with this. Identical in every way except it's an i5, not an i7 (would still have a very, very similar performance).

Cracking first deal

I can't believe Laptops Direct omitted the FHD in their description / tech spec. Who is the tech guy writing it?
I'd seek written assurance that it's FHD from Laptops Direct before buying.
I'd buy from Ebuyer.
Ebuyer does more than suggest FHD:

"Display

  • 39.6 cm (15.6") diagonal Full HD SVA eDP anti-glare slim WLED
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080"

That being said, this is a very well balanced system for £530.
Passmark 5215 CPU, 8GB Memory, 256GB SSD; most likely FHD.
Would tick my boxes if I were looking to buy.
I'm going to vote hot.

Well I would assume that the majority of people buying this kind of laptop would be interested in not much more than office work/web browsing/general media - in these kinds of situations there's unlikely to be a noticeable dip in performance, so more often than not you'll be better of saving the money and going for an i5.

Would this be a good laptop to use with an elgato hd60?

Good deal and added to shortlist.

I can see where you are coming from and normally I'd agree but if i was approaching it from the other way and looking at the i5, I'd probably be happy to pay an extra £80 to get an i7.

Also i5's don't seem to do very well on hukd (they always seem to fall prey of that that annoying 'not an i7' comment). Speculator has posted the hp i5 here, hope it does well for him: hotukdeals.com/dea…760

What do you think of the refurbished Apple laptops on groupon? Worth the money? Is it safe to buy from them? Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated. Budget around £500 mark wanted ideally for gaming, although I’m aware you need a lot more money hence looking at refurbished.

Apple... gaming....
ha

How would this handle FM2018?

Would this laptop be suitable for 3D games like sims?

Tempted to buy this but it's beyond my budget! hanpann999, might go with your link! Can't we get extra discounts on Ebuyer? Only saving 10% - £50!

That's best deal I've seen so far. If it was £400 I'd have bought it. Still feel there will be something special out there next few days
