**Update - Codes not required / i7 version dropped another £20**

Code HP250 gives £50 off current price

Just having a nose through ebuyer and this looks a steal for the specs. Comes with Bullguard security, if that's your bag. Model number is 2SY46ES. Recently went down to £499.96 and I thought that was fair. Next day del is £4.99 if you're in a rush, it still works out really well, also there is the free option or of course collect+

Obvioulsy everyone holding out for Black Friday, but not sure if it will be beat considering the drops on this model from ebuyer of late.

The i7 version is £529.97 using code HP250-549HERE
Same specs, with a higher end CPU

Not everyone will need the extra performance if they can save £150 buying last generation. The 8 series will be at a price premium over the next 3-6 months meaning you probably won't be able to buy an equivalent to this specification for under £600.

Might want to mention screen size, cant really assume its 15.6" anymore with 13.3" and 14" being common place now.

Personally i think anyone buying one of these need to wait until Black Friday, makes no sense so close to spend money.

Great price. I reckon at least £100 cheaper than you would expect to pay.
Probably discounted due to arrival of the new coffee lake chips which are much faster but just as energy efficient. As a result, expect to see a few bargains like this over the coming weeks.

Cracking deal.

Mmm. Debating whether to sell my Lenovo 710s and pick this up...

I think you can assume it's 15.6 when you see the numbered keys are on the right of the keyboard.

I think it will be a year before you get an 8th gen at this price.

This is a great deal especially with a 256gb SSD, FHD display and 8 GB (DDR4-2133 SDRAM). For a standard user this has plenty of speed, anyone else would be looking for a dedicated GPU anyway.

I do agree you may get a slightly better deal on Black Friday but I'll be surprised if it is much better. Well done OP

I said personally but you can’t get equivalent 8th gen specs as an 8th gen i3 is more relative to a 7th gen i5. You can get close to your number already though for a USB C ready i5 8th gen.

£664 with 5% discount code or only £699 rrp.

edit: Comes with a free printer and 3 year care pack too. So number hit if taken into account

This is a great deal and I voted hot on it and I didn’t mention price for 8th gen at all in my original post.

well spotted op ive been waiting for the g6 to come down. Was ooing and arring over the prices on black friday with thousands chasing deals and many times only 50+ laptops are available at the deal price...So if this is 15 inch will go for it.
Nice spot thanks.

i7 version of this laptop is no longer 599, now £699.

I could be completely wrong but I think the naming convention on this one is the business line. Whereas yours looks like a home model.

For what it's worth, the 640 G1 I'm typing this on lived on a dock for most of its first two years, and yet it's dropping to pieces. The screen surround is bent from the heat coming up from the fan/heatsink underneath it, the bottom panel fell off when I put it down on a table, and most rubber screw covers/the rubber stoppers beneath the keyboard have fallen off.

That said, it's still fairly quick in day to day use, it's just the durability I'd be concerned about if it's actually being moved on a regular basis.

The 8th generation mobile chips are Kaby Lake R (for refresh) as the Coffee Lake are desktop only; at least for now.
There are 10nm laptop chips due next year which seemingly are also going to be called 8th generation and will be called Cannon Lake.
Intel seem to like confusing people partly to try and obscure how late the 10nm chips are to the party.

erm....no

My HP Probook has just shat a hinge yesterday so the timing couldn't be better - that and the accountant says we've a fair bit of wiggle room for offsetting capital purchases against tax.

Full HD screen, SSD and a decent cpu are musts - the probook has a discrete gpu but since BFH went I've not run anything more taxing then FTL.

If you're self employed you can claim 100% of this against your tax liability in year one, instead of having to claim a recurring tiny % each year.

Cheers, that's what the accountant told us (we're a partnership). Just deciding whether to pull the trigger or not...

Thanks for the pointer. I have just read up on the chips and am a bit disappointed. Same GPU and core architecture as the 7th generation and clocked a whole ghz slower. For single core work, they need a good cooling solution to prevent them being slower than the 7th gen. It is only multicore that gives them an advantage and that doesn't apply to most of the stuff you would use a laptop for.

Despite being a 15w ULV chip it's still a fair bit faster than my current i5-2430M. I am 'annoyed' at eBuyer - they claim this is a £700 machine, yet the silver finished identical spec machine with Win10 Pro is £625:

ebuyer.com/793…abu

£75 less for Win10 Home is still a saving, but nothing like the £150 the code 'saves' you. I'm in two minds now to see what Black Friday might bring.

Was looking for a laptop for a looong time bought this now. Hope will be a good one. Thanks op

With the i7 version, could I increase the RAM in time? Been loopking for a new laptop to handle HD video Editing.

I posted this deal when it was £499, with this recent £50 discount code, it’s an absolute steal.
I can’t image any Black Friday deal will give you a FHD laptop with decent SSD and processor for less than £450.
You’ve saved me £50, thank you.

Might be of note Ebuyer will have a BF offer on 24/11/17 for the HP 250 G5 laptop i5 / 8GB RAM / 256GB SSD and HP 250 G6 laptop i7 / 8GB RAM / 256 GB SSD.

The generic info is contained in the revolving banner at the top of the web page.

They are the same laptops available in this post.

So then 2 people pointed out how you were wrong

Fisted the kumquat on this one

(For those who get that reference!)

Ordered but annoyingly couldn't see anywhere to enter the discount code when ordering via the mobile site so have ended up paying the full price 😔

No backlit keyboard on this as well.

Needed a new laptop for my business, this fits the bill! Great find dude! :
