Rubbish, looks like a early 2000 laptop, no style. Cold

That really is a pointless, unhelpful, juvenile comment - past your bedtime
The comments are all really frustrating. The spec here is excellent. i7, SSD, FHD and 8GB of RAM... This is the ideal base spec. I'd take an i5 too... DVD drives and HDDs are old tech, this is free of moving parts, will boot fast and run stuff quickly and you can be productive on a FHD screen. Hot.

By no means an expert - but this seems the sort of spec I would consider a deal at about £500.
Very nice. Something I would recommend.

Something to note its 7th gen cpu so 2 core (not a huge issue) 8th gen is out so in theory laptops at similar spec will have 2 more cores.
No dvd drive which isn't an issue for me but a lot of family still use dvd drives. I would get external for £15.

For this price though very nice. Hard pressed to find better. Hot

Throw 2TB HDD in there as well then I'm in

Just search for the processor with a 256GB SSD on Google and you won't find a laptop for less than £650 best... This is a great value for money... Unless you are looking to make love to it - doesn't look very appealing...

Think that's what I said ?
so there's the i5 7200u for £450 and this i7 7500u for £530 , nice all round performers, if I was looking for a quality all round laptop for general use I'd chose one of those two, both great value.

Only 256gb space? I don’t care if it’s an SSD. That’s just poor, especially for the asking price.

I'm sure you can suggest one with similar spec with greater than 256 SSD at this price point - or do you prefer the antiquated "spinning disc" I await your reply .

Before posting silly comments you should be ready to justify them .

Really thought you said is not a deal for £500... I'm sorry
I purchased this model back in November when it was last at £529 from ebuyer. For the spec there isn't one around for a similar price. The closest ones come in at around £600+ so this is a good deal.
The only downside is it's not an aluminium but plastic case and feels a bit cheap however the reviews did state this and it was took it into consideration at the time.
It's true that the 8th generation will be hitting a lot of laptops early this year but you can bet your life they'll be a lot more than just a few hundred extra quid!
Heat added.

Seriously good deal. Paid about the same for one with no SSD before xmas for my student daughter. Heat added
Excellent deal...256GB is plenty for many users and finally a laptop deal that won't anger the anti 766x1366 brigade although I don't see their comments praising this, it must be said

I praised! I'm anti <1080p and anti no SSD.
Great deal though am still tempted by the i5-8250U Processor, 8 GB, 128 GB SSD for £480 at Currys which comes with a bunch of freebies and £20 off office

The i5-8250 gets a better benchmark on "CPU Benchmark" too.

i5-8250 (4 Cores) = 7527
i7-7500 (2 Cores) = 5214

I'm not CPU expert by any means, but this seems a big jump in performance.

I cannot see that spec on Currys website.

Got a link?

I think its this one I think its this one https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lenovo-ideapad-320s-i5-8250u-8gb-ram-full-hd-display-47999-pc-world-2865956

Ahh, right!

I thought it was another HP laptop he was on about..

Anyway, I thought Lenovo bought out HP a few years ago (or did I dream that?)

Dreams aside, I take it Lenovo are better than they were a few years back?

I had one of their G550 back in 2010 (from a Currys or Comet) and it was the worst Laptop ever!

The cursor would move all over the place whilst typing due to touch-pad built into the wrist rest picking up slight movements from your wrist through general usage.

God, I hated that laptop.

Still got it in the loft, but its dead and not worth fixing
What about the DELL Inspiron 15 5570 15.6" Laptop - White or Silver for £612
  • Intel® Core™ i5-8250U Processor
  • 8GB RAM
  • 256 GB SSD
  • AMD Radeon 53
  • 15" 1920X1080
I know it's a bit more money, but does have dedicated graphics.

Not my cup of tea in white or silver, but maybe some like those colours.

The build quality on these is rubbish. You would only be buying it for the numbers. I would drop down processor wise and get an ASUS ux from John Lewis for £599.

I bought this exact laptop during the Black Friday sale for £594.15. I can't fault it thus far, as it is capable of doing everything that I need (mainly work focused tasks but also some light gaming).
