I was actually looking at the Ryzen version of this for £329.98 as posted by NeptunesNemesis, also at Ebuyer.
This has been up and down in price recently, although offers another option for you to consider. The Ryzen 3 2200U is a 2 core CPU with a base of 2.5GHz / Turbo 3.4Ghz
This model has an i5-8265U with 4 cores and a base clock of 1.60GHz and Max Turbo of 3.90GHz
Price wise between the two, I feel is reasonable. The only downside I can see on both is that they are TN panels, although not the end of the world to a lot of people, unless you're specifically after an IPS.
There are so many different options out there, I'm just throwing this one into the mix, as it's come down a little and seemed quite popular previously.

I do wish you'd stop spouting on about thunderbolt on budget laptop deals - it's really not helpful to anyone.
You say you bought a Lenovo T470s from eBay for £150 yet looking at completed listings for that laptop on eBay for the last 6 months not one has been sold for less than £200 - apart from a couple that were broken and sold for spares or repair (hardly comparable).
Right now, there isn't a single laptop of comparable value to this deal, with the addition of Thunderbolt, available for sale on eBay or elsewhere.
I get that Thunderbolt/USB 4.0 etc... are nice to have if you're buying a laptop and you have a good amount of money to play with - but constantly posting "no thunderbolt" on pretty much ever laptop deal on this site just comes across as very very weird and makes me wonder if you're not just trying to wind people up.
Full-size island-style keyboard with numeric keypad <- if they don't advertise it, then most likely no. Which is a shame as Im on a lookout for one like that with backlit.
I’ve been looking for a laptop with reasonable specs in this price range. What I’ve found is they don’t always state it. It’s for a student and I feel having a back lit keyboard isn’t fully required but a great function to have.
Unfortunately not. The keyboard is still nice though, large letters and quiet when typing
It's a £400 laptop, you'll struggle to find a laptop for £400 with thunderbolt.
To the contrary , I bought one from eBay for only £150 . It is the laptops with expensive graphics cards which cost more .
Which laptop was that?
Lenovo t470s. There are lots more . Most Apple ones come with Thunderbolt as well . All Intel Generation 10 CPUs should come with Thunderbolt built in. It is going to be called USB 4.0

Surely you did not buy a Lenovo t470s brand new from eBay for £150. Even second hand that would be a great price.
Second hand . I used to have one from work as well , till they upgraded it now to one with two Thunderbolt ports .
eBay prices are a gamble . I was surprised as well when my offer was accepted. But most people here are looking for laptop s with expensive display cards . I am looking for ones with 4k and Thunderbolt .
Does it have the power to display video at 4k?
Yes. Thunderbolt can display 4k. Signal can be converted to displayport 4k or HDMI 2.0 with convertor hub . It can even drive 2 4k monitors
I understand that thunderbolt can display 4k, but does your laptop have the power to actually push out 4k video onto a 4k monitor/TV?
I'm genuinely curious as I'm looking for a laptop and don't know if I need thunderbolt
Yes. I can connect to 4k TV with 4k signal , Use TV as 4k monitor. With Thunderbolt you can connect external graphics card . So if you have two Thunderbolt ports like in new laptops, one port you can connect external graphics card and the other 4k monitors etc with Thunderbolt hub . But have to be very careful with cables . Normal usb c to usb c cables do not work. The cable has to be Thunderbolt certified as well to provide sufficient bandwidth.
