Been posted before I think, but it looks like it's dropped another tenner. Wavering between this or the Lenovo, but been put off that a bit by the reported throttling issue.

This is the specification page for this model but it's clearly not up to date!! link

No mention of the 8265 processor but perhaps more worrying is the lack of an entry for this SKU : 6MP21ES#ABU . HP are usually pretty good at this sort of thing ...

Strange that, HP seem to be selling with the same details on their amazon store: amazon.co.uk/HP-…SNQ

That's also Ebuyer.
Could it easily be upgraded to 16gb ram ? Will that's speed it up massively when multi tasking ?

Just had time for a proper look, I think you're right about the HP support pages being outdated, they definitely have that processor on the G7: www8.hp.com/uk/…316

No it wont really speed it up. Unless you plan to use hyper v or something similiar i wouldnt bother. The ssd already offers the best speed upgrade

That was my point about the SKU not being on the HP website; without it you cannot know the exact specification ...

8GB should be enough for all common tasks inc. general multitasking. If you are a heavy user, say using Adobe Photoshop or similar, extra RAM will make a noticeable difference. The RAM configurations as listed on the Specs page are;

32 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (16 GB x 2)
16 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (16 GB x 1)
16 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (8 GB x 2)

The laptop could come with either 1 X 8GB installed or 2 X 4GB. No way to know which way it will come..

So yes, upgrade is possible and the procedure is very easy.

HP laptops / warranty / physical setup e.g access to RAM to be able to upgrade are excellent. HP is always my 1st choice for laptops if I'm ever asked. Better value than DELL and superior quality than Lenovo. Their softwares updates are second to none.

Theres no easy access panel for the ram or hdd. You need to remove the bottom case.

No problem! I think I'm going for it as well, can't see anything that'll beat that price for those specs at the moment
