Seems like a good price for a large monitor.

HP 27ea Full HD 27" monitor with 2x HDMI

Whether you want to work, watch a movie or play a game, the quality of your monitor will make or break your experience. Luckily HP has a model that impresses on every single front. The HP 27ea delivers a 27 inch Full HD image that refreshes at a 60Hz rate and has a response time of 7 ms. No matter what you use it for, this screen will improve your experience in myriad ways.

With the HP 27ea, HP has made its thinnest LCD screen so far. Not only that, but it is also bezel-less, which makes it perfect for a multiple monitor setup. On top of that, the beautiful design of the monitor makes it impressive to look at even when it's off.

When you do turn it on, a whole world will open up to you: the IPS screen with LED backlight generates a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz. We're also talking about a low haze screen here, which means that colours are as bright and vivid as it gets. The brightness of 250 cd/m² and contrast ratio of 1000:1 static and 10M:1 dynamic finally ensure that you can keep on working through the night.

External speakers won't be necessary with this monitor; the HP 27ea has built in 1.5W per channel speakers. You won't have to clutter your desk with any extra cables in order to listen to your favorite music. All of this and a viewing angle of 178° and an Energy Guide rating of A+ adds up to an offer you simply can't refuse.

For gaming....

Fine enough monitor, but iBood rankles up there alongside Very and Littlewoods in the crap retailer stakes!

Most gamers want 1ms, and most modern IPS are 4-5ms, so 7ms is slow. Fine for casual gaming and most/all other PC jobs, but not the best for gaming.
Also, with a max 60Hz refresh rate, although a console works OK, a PC gamer wouldnt be happy unless they have at least 75Hz, and prefferably 144Hz

the the fastest you get on a big TV is around 20ms so it should still be very good

Nothing wrong with 7ms...

The iBood email in my inbox states this model to be the HP 27es. There are comments on iBood's forum that the model is in fact an HP 27ea - as described at top of this page. On iBood's website it indicates either/or depending on which page you're looking at !

iBood have not yet answered the questions about this on their forum.

Does anyone know the difference between the two models, as muggins here has just ordered and my receipt states its an HP 27ea - that's not what I ordered.

Compared to a TV, yes, but compared to a monitor geared towards gaming, 7ms is slow, even for general PC work 7ms is slow; I didnt know they still made panels this slow, everything I looked at last week was 5ms minimum.

Unless any of you is a pro gamer, you wont notice a difference of 10ms or 20ms. So don't sweat it.

TVs have response times of more than 30ms and most of the console world plays on them
