haha... funny someone should post this deal as i bought this when they had the £10 off using google checkout so got it for £319.99! Delivery is free too if you choose the super saver option.

i received it yesterday and i'm using right now

its a cracking laptop and by far the cheapest i've seem for a dual core. the memory is only 512mb but memory for it is very cheap so upgrading is an option for some, to be honest i don't think i'll need it as it seems to be running great as it is.

btw the photos don't do it justice. the plastic looks a bit cheap in the photos, but its mor like a gun metal colour. and the screen has that nice gloss look to it like you'd expect to pay a lot more for.

vista home basic is going to be useless so will necessitate an upgrade....

this looks like a good deal.

I am tempted to buy for the kids homework & browsing etc.

Thanks OP.

Useless for doing what? Email, word processing and web browsing which is the focus of a laptop in this price range?

I bought one of these a while back - £315 with 1GB Ram - very pleased with it.

The bad thing about these laptops?

Theres no hard drive light!

You don't think it will be an issue but it does become annoying...

I've just picked up one of these with slightly different specs:

1GB RAM, 120GB HD, Core Duo T2400 processor
]£335 inc delivery direct from HP (after their £40 rebate offer which is on at the moment - use HPOPTF)

Hi all, I'm a newbie at this!!!

Hi, this sounds like a good deal:thumbsup:

Can you tell me what "HPOPTF" means, and what do I have to do?

Thanks

Hi VeeBee

You will need to buy the item direct from HP via their online store. When you get to the Checkout, there is an option to enter a coupon code for discounts.

If you paste HPOPTF in there as the code, this discounts the item by £40.

Hope that helps!

Thanks alot, just ordered one and got it for £334, delivery not til 11/12 tho!!! Cant wait!!!

Apparently you can get a further 10% discount if you're a "returning" customer!! Buy one......cancel it then log back in as an established customer and the link to same item is further discounted which you can then order. Managed to get mine for £315.

Actually, mine is T2300 and with 1GB Ram. Anyone with any suggestions how best to get RAM increased to 2GB?

Anybody got the laptop yet ?

Bloody hell that was quick!!!

Ordered a laptop direct from HP at 8:45pm Sunday 25/11, the 1.83ghz with £40 off and guess what has turned up today

I wasn't expecting delivery until the middle of December!

Pity it isn't a new toy for me but I get to play with it while I configure it for someone :santa:

How can i get it for £315 pls?

If ordering direct from HP don't forget to go via Quidco for extra cashback!!!

Go to HP's site

Add code HPOPTF to get £40 off

The 512MB one is £316 down to £276 with code plus 5% Quidco - £262.20
h41306.www4.hp.com/sec…853

The 1Gb one is £370 down to £330 with code plus 5% Quidco - £314.50
h41306.www4.hp.com/ite…2AA

says item does not exist? + the site is **** poor in terms of speed

seems to beo ut of stock now, I tried to order it on Thursday.

I think ebuyer have the same laptop for a similar price now.

I went for the more expensive 6720s in the end for 389 after cashback. Still needs an extra gig, but it had a card reader and bluetooth on which i wanted. (not worth an extra 70quid, but hey ho...)
