Your timings superb, I've been after a cheap Android tablet with GPS, and this seems to fit my needs perfectly. Even better that it's a decent brand supplied from a UK High Street store

I'd say this is a fair price for that spec, and only just. I wouldn't pay any more.
How does this compare to a Linx 7" and Amazon Fire 7" in the real world? They are both around £50. I need to buy a cheapish tablet for a relative. Ta
I'm not going to vote... But tablets this cheap are a waste of money. And HP and tesco are both **** house companies pulling every trick in the book to maintain . I feel better.

It's difficult comparing a Windows tablet to an Android. What is the relative going to use it for?

Why is it a waste of money if it does what you need it to? If all you want it for is a bit of browsing and emails, and you don't want to worry about breaking it, then spending more on a better tablet is a waste of money.

Surely not, you just fed him.;)
For this price it's really good, but high expectations even from cheap tablets generally overshadow the mind even at low prices

Please share your link to a £39 iPad.....

...thought not. Donut
Can someone confirm how much of the 8GB memory is available after the OS has taken its share? Does android 4.4.2 place any restrictions on how the microSD card is used? I recall there being complaints that Google had restricted what could be done with the SD card.

Is that true or a joke? Hot anyway from me.
Will this be any good for a 4 year old to watch youtube videos, she's got an iPad 1st gen currently, but it's very tired and battery is about done.
Was keeping my eye out for a cheap tablet, just ordered one. Thanks, heat added .

Once you have it, there are 2 ways to get a later OS on it..

1: it will do 4 OTA updates over a period of around a week, 3 are security ones
2: download the FULL android lollipop image for it and wipe it clean of the old one

Sorry for the delay, it will be mostly web browsing and Facebook. She plays games like candycrush etc. but I'm hoping that she won't mind not being able to play some games on it if the specs aren't up to it. Ta

Was searching to see if lollipop was available for this tablet but cannot find anything. Can you provide a link to site with details of how to do this for HP 7 G2?
Good as an offline/online via tethering car GPS.
Thanks op . Seems to have a better resolution than the fire hd. Ordered.
Great tablet but really bad battery
but still great price

I picked up the Linx 7 from the deal the other day (£39.99). Sold the Office key for £28 and upgraded it to Windows 10.

I now have a 7" tablet with full blown Windows 10 that's great for Netflix in bed or in home streaming steam games to my TV for what is essentially £12.

I fail to see the downside so far...
ordered thanks!
Is there anything similar priced but with a better battery? My 6 yr old has currently got a trusty HP Touch pad but the battery only last about 4 hours when streaming (minecraft videos, damn you stampycat his voice is so irritating!).

The HP 7 G2 only states 5.5 hrs so guessing that that will be a lot lower when connected to WIFI and streaming etc.

Can anyone confirm what the battery life is actually like?
Just been reading the Amazon reviews and saw this:

Battery can stay for around 2 or 3 hour only using Chrome or Messenger / FB / Twitter (no videos), if you uses video battey goes down to less than 1.5 hours.

Thats killed it for me then, good price but the battery spoils it, shame

Not sure if this comes with instructions, looks like a file you would put on an SD card and do an update in recovery mode.
