With a handy 14” HD screen, Intel i5 processor and 8GB RAM, this laptop is ready for all your adventures on social media and the net. It’s got enough muscle to handle all your word processing and email requirements, as well as enabling you to fire up your preferred media app, so watching your favourite films and programmes isn’t ever a problem.

Dual-Core processor
Intel’s 7th generation, Dual-Core i5 processor delivers impressive performance, letting you complete all of your daily computing tasks with ease. It's perfect for emailing and chatting, creating documents, watching movies or surfing the web.

Solid State Drive
With a 128GB Solid State Drive (SSD) gives you the capacity to store your documents and media, while ensuring quicker and reliable access to your files and programs. SSDs are far faster than regular hard drives. Ingeniously, SSDs don't use moving parts to work, which makes them far more dependable and also quieter.

Packed with ports
Featuring one USB Type-C and two USB 3.1 ports, you can be sure there is space for all your external devices to be attached. The SD memory card reader will helpfully give you the chance to directly upload your images from a digital camera to the computer. If that’s not enough, this laptop also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as a HDMI port, so you’re all set for any multimedia experiences.

Agreed, been there did that 4 years ago!

Very poor screen, my 7 year old laptop has the same screen, not worth it IMO.

Damn so so close for me. 1080p would have pushed me over the edge to buying. Tbh this seems a cracking deal if you dont mind the screen especially with 3 years cover. Voted hot but not for me.

Haha same for me. Apart from the screen this would be perfect for my needs

It's difficult to find a 1080P resolution, a decent CPU and an SSD for around £350-£400 new.

Ordered last week at 429. Email being sent now for hopefully difference to be settled fingers crossed. Haven't received yet but hopefully fine for my 12 year old for school stuff.

This year's BF has been so bad for Laptops. So close yet so far..damn! If only FHD. Voted hot for deal never the less.

can you add normal HDD to this like 1TB?

This might be me being stupid but why do you need a FHD laptop if you don't watch movies on it? For day to day browsing, working it makes no difference?

Yeah it's just one of those things people are told they need by the TV, to be honest. A 720p screen will be perfectly adequate for most users. This is the reason most (all?) sub-£400 laptops have 720p screens. If it wasn't adequate, these laptops would simply remain on the shelves.

In short, don't let some tarts online convince you that you need a FHD laptop, when in fact it's only they who need it. In most cases even they actually only 'need' it. Just like they 'need' a curved television etc. They've been had.

Definitely yes if you are replacing the existing SSD drive. Probably yes if you are adding an additional HDD in place of the optical drive, but you will need to buy an optical bay HDD caddy. £20 max maybe.

I'v been looking to replace my Samsung NP550P7C-S05 17.3-inch Notebook with something faster, bigger memory , so searched all the deals everywhere I could since Friday in hope to find something appropriate.
The best I could find was the Dell doorbuster deal but still not worth the money IMO.
In my case it is about getting the best quality and value for the money you are prepared to pay
I see no reason to pay nearly £400 for a laptop with such poor screen and processor.
I'v noticed that most of low price high performance laptops have poor rewievs regarding displays , surely for an extra £50 there should be an option to upgrade to a better one

Really the exact same panel and you've taken both apart & compared model numbers?

Same resolution does not mean same panel, same technology, quality (it probably isnt great BUT it's a budget laptop for a REASON)

thanks

Aside from the screen that will already be a deal breaker for some, if you put in an SSD, why not go the whole way and at least have 256 GB?, obviously it will cost a bit more but it will be well worth it. It's not cold but personally I wouldn't consider buying at this price point in view of the various shortcomings.

Kindly suggest which one to go for -

Lenovo IdeaPad 320 14" Laptop Intel Core i5-7200U, 4GB, 128GB SSD @ £389 at Currys (may be with 1 year Guarantee)

OR

Lenovo IdeaPad 320 14" Laptop, Intel Core i5-7200U, 8GB, 128GB SSD @ 499.95 at John Lewis with 3 year Guarantee

Is this worth a punt at £291? It’s for Facebook, candy crush and general internet use. Thanks.

Only just seen this gone up to £629.95 now.....gutted
