HP Chromebook 11 for £199 after Currys/PC World cashback (£229 initial outlay)

Good price for the recently released HP Chromebook 11.

Cheapest I can find this - I was holding out for the other HP Chromebook (with 14" screen) to drop a little further in price but seems to have gone out of stock everywhere!

Don't think this model can be had for cheaper anywhere else?...

Has anyone purchased this after maybe owning the 14" HP Chromebook?

I want to know how the performance compares as I know the 14" HP Chromebook has a Intel processor whilst this has a Samsung one

The HP 11 has better battery life but is the performance similar between the 2 models?

Awesome price for a web surfer and simple laptop! Some people don't get the point in these yet though

Battery life is lacking compared with the Haswell based Chromebooks ie the HP 14 and Acer C720, however this will run Ubuntu alongside Chrome OS as they both will use the same Linux Kernel, your need to put it into developer mode with some terminal commands and then download and run the Crouton script. liliputing.com/201…tml

Agreed. I'm after a Chromebook for my dad as it's perfect for what he uses a laptop for (Web browsing and Youtube) - the only big miss is Skype but hopefully it'll be added soon enough as some kind of app

I love the fact that you can charge this with your phone charger! And it reminds me of the old MacBooks. Heat!

Get him to try Google Hangouts

Wandered into PC World looking for a cheapish Ultrabook or something that I can use on the train. As long you remember that you really need an internet connection to do anythin useful.

Did you notice if the Acer C720 are in stock yet? They are meant to be released for £199 pre cashback so I'm interested!

No, they didn't. The HP one is easier on the eye though.

True but half the battery life and double boot time, ruins it for me. HP wins hands down in almost every other way!

the hp chromebook battery life 4.75 hours the one i had from pc world i had to take back as it would only charge if left turned on.

price match on amazon amazon.co.uk/dp/…D0/ perhaps better bet
