I ***think*** this is £149 if you buy through HuddleBuy Perks...

You basically sign in (once your company is registered), and click to visit the HP website.... there may be other ways to get an account, I'm not sure.

Fast and effective? Not this Chromebook. Sluggish and underpowered in all the reviews I read, with disappointing battery life and poor screen. The design is one of the nicest Chromebooks, but still, you are better off with one of the Celeron Chromebooks.

well, really that depends on what you're doing with it. it gets me by fine with taking uni notes etc., looks amazing and is probably one of the best laptops you could get for the price.

Of course the ARM architecture lets the whole system down, but for what t is, it's definitely not sluggish and has a decent 6 hour battery life. Honestly, what more could you want for (a let's face it, expendable) £149, especially with this sort of speed.

I ordered one thinking this was an updated version of the Google designed one. If by updated you mean worst in every way then it is. Promptly cancelled my order for this one and managed to track down the old one via the deal I posted. I'm not sell promoting a deal. Just stating a fact that the 5 star reviews for the HP chrome book 11 are not for this model. If I hadn't manged to get hold of the old model the Dell chromebook 11 looks the best bet at this size to me.

From reviews, it's better build than my Samsung Chromebook. I especially like the micro USB charger ...
I'm waiting for the 1080p Toshiba. ;-)

'Soothing white' laptops get depressingly grubby very quickly in my experience.

Yes, because 1080p films (and the storage space they take up compared to their 720p brethren) are essential on an 11.6" screen viewed from approximately 3 feet away oO

Unless your point is regarding the increased resolution for a larger desktop screen, and which point I was applaud your young eyes and disable your ability to zoom within your browser as an act of jealousy X)

I like to have the 1080p for on the go software development when I'm on the train. I currently use MB Pro for that, but I prefer the Chromebook because it's cheap enough for me just to throw it in the bag. Also I prefer Linux over OSX.
You're right, I need larger desktop area.

Btw, the Toshiba is 13.3" ...

I have this hp but in 14 inches with celeron and 3g (data pass). I bought for my miss but she diesnt like using it and she uses my macbook instead, data pass for 2years has not been activated. If someone is looking for one cheap i might be selling as it just gathers dust on the shelf:)

We use a pool of Chromebooks that people book out for Citrix access, they have received nothing but praise.

can you run ms office on them or read word docs?

you cannot instal ms office but you can use google docs or ms office online for free albeit with limited functionality. you can try both of these options from a desktop or laptop to see if they will satisfy your needs before you buy a chromebook.

Since you can't use Google, I think Citrix will be over your head. Anyway if you type Chromebook Citrix Reciever in to Google you get the answer.

Mmm - Snow white only - cold. Originally these came with seven dwarves...

Thanks for the tip bro. You're right I can't use google as my proxy server blocks it. I can use Yahoo tho so I typed in "chromebook citrix reciever" and you're right it gives some info.

You can install an app but the client needs to connect to a storefront server which we don't have nor 95% of people.

The screen is truly terrible since the update in September 14. I love chombooks but am I right in thinking this now the lowest spec chromebook on sale today?

How come this is so hot?
