sorted byFor 150 quid, and the knowledge that it'll be used as an internet and word processing device, the screen is fine for me. If you have high expectations of a great quality screen for £150, you will be disappointed.
Edited to replace internal with Internet... (edited)
Very quick and simply to use. Love ChromeOS.
BUT...the screen sucks big time.
Here you can see the review of the model with AMD processor and the same screen.
I've got this model with Intel processor, and I'm fine for what I have to do with it.
I paid mine, on sale, at £199, so this is definitely a bargain!
should be fine, my nephew's school gave them to students who were 11-15 so it should be fine for an 8 year old too. Just beware it's not exactly a laptop in the sense that you can install whatever you want on it.
Thanks for your comments.
I'll keep an eye on it and will order if it drops again.
How bad is the screen?
but I wonder if it's worth spending £10 more on the asus one.
Thanks, was just about to order but goes to £229 at checkout.
Same here 🙈. Think I'll spend a bit more and get a better screen anyway.
yeah how strange, I have two accounts with amazon and on one it still shows as 149 all the way to checkout. The other one shows £229 now.
Anyway, this one is still available at £10 more (£159) and I think it's a bit better....

Only 11.6" though
Thanks, not bad but I did prefer the larger 14" screen compared to the 11.6 on this.
Totally agree with you, i want a good screen so will have to spend more.
Atom like CPU is near enough the most basic you can find now. Find a refurbished with the quad core version. But yes, ok for very basic usage. (edited)
I was going to order one for my 8 year old as she uses my Chromebook for homework, they have pretty good parental controls as well. Hopefully a good one will drop around black Friday.
"but why no hdmi on newer models?".
I'm assuming it's so that Google could sell you a Google Chrome Cast instead, etc?.
But who really knows ...
