Decent quality Colour Laser MFP available. £217.98 with £100 cashback. Seems like a decent deal to me.

Yes, I know the branded consumables are expensive, but decent quality compatibles are available at a good price. And as an inkjet cartridge disintegrated on me the other day covering me in bright blue ink, seemed like the perfect time to give this a go!

Cashback seems pretty straightforward - Details are all here

Gets good reviews as far as I can see. Get it quick - the cashback deal ends on the 30th April!

You get the 3 year warranty by claiming it back from hp, it's an additional service pack they usually charge like £30 for I believe

No. Duplex print but you have to scan both sides. Does print from mobile devices though.
If you order through hp directly as a student you can get it for £109.69 with the cashback
I have a not dissimilar model to this, an MFP277dw, and all I can say it’s one of the best printers I have ever owned. And to be honest this looks identical.

At this price use the £100 cashback and get a set or more of toners and enjoy effortless stress-free printing, scanning, copying, etc. for years to come.

I cannot recommend this enough.

It has been faultless and utterly reliable for well over a year and is just coming to the end of the Cyan toner provided with the printer - and we use the printer pretty much daily, homework, labels, maps etc. And remember the supplied toners are of a much lesser capacity than the replacements.

Heavens knows how long the new, extra full toners will last?

It has cool features (using HP downloaded software) to scan over the network, copy to email/local storage, even email scans to people. Mine is duplex print capable, and this is permanently turned on. Give it a couple more years I reckon I would have saved half the cost of the printer in paper saved!!

Connected wirelessly, it even updates itself (not to some peeps liking no doubt)
Had the M175nw which looks very similar for years and has been fine. No problem using 3rd party cartridges.
Am really tempted by this.. I currently have a Dell 1320c which is faultless and cheap to run.

But I miss the scanner on my previous printer.. And the lack of "Airprint" and this HP would be perfect for what I want.. But I would like to know more about the toner costs.. The links above are promising, but after market Toners for this model are not common.

If its confirmed that a set of toners can be bought for £50, I think I am in!

I'm in a similar position. my mum broke her 1250c clearing a paper jam. Been looking for a few months now and this is the best deal I've seen...

I am not sure those toners would work. The printer is the M281, but these toners are for the M380.

Fair enough. I've just looked at hp specs for this and you're right. But what's the footnote on about?
So it seems that cheap consumables are not available for this printer...

The old model (M277) used the HP201X cartridges and those are readily available for £60 per set.. But this (M281) model uses HP203X toner and these are £60 EACH!

So currently, this will be an expensive printer to run..
Just ordered one from Amazon Thanks
Any more news on compatible toners? Tempted or what about an Epson ink tank?

Bottom line. There arn't any. .Cheap ones at least.

The HP203X cartridges are expensive and considering you get "low yeild" (HP203A) versions with the printer, its going to be expensive to run.. Its possible that by the time the first set of cartridges run out, the compatible market would have changed, but for now, there are no cheap HP203X cartridges, atleast none that I have found.
Anyone have a view on what sort of quality photos you'd get out of this? I don't need *amazing* - I send away to a proper printing service for that - but how about 'snaps of the kids for grandparents' type level?

No cheap toners at the moment, so I will stick with my Dell C2660dn for now.
Compatile toners are £160 a set. Crazy.
Just buy another printer it is cheaper than buying new toners..........................

Mind Blowing ???????????????
That's the way printer companies make their money
It's a relatively new model that's why ink prices are so high, after a while they should settle down I hope
My plan is to buy one.. Keep it boxed and see how the compatible market goes... I will stick with my Dell for now, but if we start to see cheap toners, then I will use it.. if not, ,will just sell it on.
Dropped to £99 (£199.98 - £100 Cashback) now.. Absolute bargain!

Ordered yesterday at £218, saw it had dropped, called them and had the previous order cancelled and ordered again at £199 (£99 after cashback)
Mine arrived today. It’s a bit of a beige lump but very impressed with build and print quality. Colour is perfectly serviceable on glossy paper. Reckon by the time I need a replacement set of toner it will be available on aftermarket
Now discontinued at Ebuyer
Just got one from Amazon for £199.98 with Prime delivery
Just bought direct from HP using my companies discount company for 209.99.. But then I read that they have a Price Match scheme, where they match and take a further 5% off.. So send them the link the amazon deal.
Fingers crossed.
Yeah, price has dropped to £199.98 with Amazon since ordering from Ebuyer. Just sent them a price match claim email for £18 while registering for the Cashback and 3YR Warranty with HP.
Do amazon still do price match?
Cashback received today. Thanks again OP. Hopefully, by the time we need toner, the prices of the generics will have dropped to nearer the £60-70 of the older models. It won't be too bad if we need just a black toner cartridge beforehand, as they aren't such a rip off.
Yep cashback came through earlier in the week.
