Amazon price for a replacement toner set is £135!

beat me to it, slightly cheaper here... www.inkinablink.co.uk

Surely a 2500 page set of toners for £135 isn't too bad... works out at about 5p a page!

Voted hot.

genuinely great price for this printer, but the price has been spiralling down for quite a while and the same item at the same price from the same retailer was listed here ]over two weeks ago.
note toner supplied with this item is about half full (half empty?).
maybe more cost-efficient to select the next model up in the range (HP 2600 ???) as it uses the same print engine but is supplied with full toner carts "out of the box".

On the box itself it says each toner does 1000 pages. The slightly more model 2600n on the box says 2000 pages. And usually the toner which comes with machine is about 75% full. (Full in this case from a new cartridge is 2,500 pages). The 2600n has a higher throughput per month so it is more robust. The network connection is worth at least another £20. It is brilliant to be able to share IP prrinters at home as most people have more than one computer these days. IP printing is more eco-friendly than Windows printer sharing.

Review taken from Which?'s website:

The HP Color Laserjet printer is a Best Buy and produces very high quality text documents with sharp, solid black letters. In addition, this is one of very few printers which produces good quality colour spreadsheets.

Laser printers aren't generally recommended for printing photographs because the ink isn't suitable for use with glossy photographic paper, and when we tried printing some using HP's Colour Laser Glossy Photo Paper, the results were poor, grainy and streaky.

It's quick though, and only took 50 seconds to print an 8x10 picture. The ink doesn’t smudge easily either, which might be a bonus if you tend to use a lot of highlighter pen or stand your drinks on documents by mistake.

Like most laser printers, this one is cheap to run especially when printing text documents - we were able to print 2500 pages from a single cartridge. It has very few features though - it's not PictBridge enabled, and there are no memory card slots.

This means that you can't print directly from digital camera or removable storage media, and have to download files onto your computer first.

The on/off switch is a little hard to reach as it's located at the back of the printer.

Pros: Excellent text quality, excellent for spreadsheets, good printing speeds, low running costs, smudge proof ink.

Cons: Poor photographic printing, no memory card slots, not PictBridge enabled.

Quite a good price for a laser printer.

Voted cold since poor reviews and not mac compatible. Harsh but true.
