Resolution of that screen is amazing for the price. £690 odd @ Ebuyer so it looks like a good deal, am seriously tempted... Unless someone knows better?

Looking for a laptop for the missus to run Photoshop/Illustrator/Corel. I assume this is up to the job?

Depends what you want to use the laptop for. If it's for gaming or 3D modelling, look elsewhere. Anything else, it will be more than adequate.

i was going to get the vostro 1500(n0915003) how the two compare

Better CPU and GPU but with the same res screen it works out at £693.32 which is nigh-on £200 more. Is it worth that? (I don't know) :?

just ordered one - couldn't get any freebies!

The TL-60 is close to the original Core Duo in performance (clock-for-clock). So, the 2GHz C2D would certainly be faster. You could probably compare it to the 1.8GHz C2D.

If you don't do heavy gaming - this is a real bargain at this price - voted hot!

how does this compare to the other HP on the forums?

Am tempted by this but after reading through this thread

especially post #68 and having found these

I am not so sure about using this company.

Anyone had good/bad experience with them?

"1590 in stock 9am this morning" ??

Ordered! Gone for nextday delivery so I should be able to feedback soon.

Cheers masterofimages, added rep! Screen resolution was the deciding factor in the end. Been looking for a laptop for bloody ages...

I'll tell you tomorrow!

I have used IT247 several times without any problems. They have been a little slow to sort out a return before (bought the wrong item) but other than that no problems.

The rebate is for £100. The £50 rebate is for the Windows XP model.

I second this is a great deal, shame I bought the Dell 6400 about a month ago!

Only think I dont like is AMD, but then I stopped using AMD about 5 years ago, maybe they have improved and are not power hungary storage heaters anymore?

Ebuyer have dropped the price since this morning £641.73 (or I was looking at the wrong one). Some customer reviews here:

Looks like you get the choice of installing either 32 or 64 bit Vista. Assuming you do, which one would you choose? (and don't say XP )

mixed reviews on ebuyer although i've bought one from it247. Hope the battery is going to last a little.

i just rang hp and they would not price match it but if you join hp you can get £40 of which would bring it down to £640 if brought for hp. also i spoke to someone at the sales team and it247 has a Licence to sell hp products

just Ordered with next day. what is Vista Business like is it work keeping

it doesn't have all the extra rubbish running eating up resource!

so is the rebate similar to cashback?

You fill in a form and send it off to HP. I presume they send you a cheque.

Here's a copy of the form:

I read somewhere on the internet that radeon xpress 1250 when used with amd chips can have some dedicated graphics memory - can anyone clarify this?

Also, apparantly you get the option of choosing 32 or 64 bit install on 1st boot up - which one should i go for and why?

Thanks, Ash

I've been looking into this a little with interest but still can't understand how they do business - seems like they don't hold any of this stock?

I asked the same question earlier... After a bit of research and checking of what s/w and h/w support I've got I've decided to go for 64 bit. The lappy isn't going to be used for anything other than Illustrator/Photoshop, Corel & Word and when I ran the Vista Upgrade advisor it didn't moan about them not being compatible. I'm hoping it'll be a one-stop install and then I can forget about it :-D

Got a confirmation email this morning that my order had been 'fulfilled'. Lets see if it actually arrives today...

Ran advisor on my existing desktop with all the s/w loaded h/w attached. Assuming the lappy has no issues with whats already on/in it then I think I'm ready to go.

Yes I did pick next day and I'll be annoyed if it hasn't been dispatched. If not I'm now wondering if I could cancel and go for the other deal, distance sellings regs. and all that...
