    Don't buy hp. I have this- it does nothing. My third hp printer- and yesterday in the salvation army store I walked past one - exact same- in its box and I know why..... it is rubbish. It can print info about itself; it can scan, but it can't print anything when you need it too. Never connected after 3 weeks... said it was... This is a hp problem; don't buy it. Even if your just doing it for the price cause u need only need one thing....it won't print it

    Sounds like it may be faulty, so after three weeks, why not return it for a replacement and see if that’s any better? But it could also be your network setup/router if you’re trying to print over wifi. Have you tried connecting to the printer wifi itself (wifi direct)? Or USB?

    I have a 6030 which when it works is fine. Unfortunately the printer and my previous hp continually go off line which is hugely frustrating. Hp know this of course and actually have developed the "HP print and scan doctor" which is updated regularly and you will get to know it very well.

    Yep - although availability on Amazon has been a bit patchy, the average price of this over the last 180 days has been £46.52 - it's actually more expensive right now than it has been for a good chunk of the last 12 months.

    If someone cancels their HP instant ink subscription, can they still use the roll over pages they have left, without buying more ink or getting into another subscription

    Few people said you won't be able to use it once you cancel the subscription.

    Be warned, I had this and it was an absolute pig to get working consistently with wireless. Seriously regretted not paying a little more for one with a display on the printer.

    To get 6 months free instant ink you need to subscribe to HP+ . Once you're in HP+ you lock your printer to using only genuine original HP cartridges you won't be able to use anything else.refilled or generic.
    My advice is avoid HP+. Instant ink subscription is different from HP+. (edited)

    Had mine two and a half years, still getting 15 pages a month for free which is all I need for Amazon returns

    I just unplug it until needed so it doesn't print test pages I didn't ask for. (edited)

    Doesn't that waste ink though? Doesn't it have to charge every time you turn it on? I suppose you're not paying for the ink but...

    I wonder if this test printing is a setting, as I've mentioned before, mine (HP Envy 5010) doesn't do that, it's on 24/7.

    can't waste ink if not powered up, but it will waste ink when it randomly prints test pages you don't want.

    It will also vamp power if left on 24/7
