quick ]price check for consumables suggests it cheaper to buy another printer rather than buy ink cartridges.
great price for the printer though.
great price for any printer!

Does it come with any ink?

Argos don't say but I'd be sure that it will have some - generally they come with low capacity ink carts.

... it almost certainly won't come with a USB cable though... hardly any printers seem to these days!

£1 @ Poundland

Lots of people seem to jump in for a printer because the hardware is cheap and as you already warn - potentially pay £10 for a USB cable that can be had for £1-£2 as a sane purchase, AND completely forget about the cost of ink cartridges and the need to keep spare set(s) in the house (as many printers won't even print black if any other cartridge is "out").

I bought an Epson C46 3 years ago for £45 that I knew took 'compatible' cartridges that I've paid between 60p and £1.20 per cartridge for, instead of the 'genuine' Epson at £7-£14 each, so over the life to date that £45 printer has been about 10% of the overall cost that even a FREE HP printer would have been.

So when considering an ink jet printer DO consider life time cost.

Better still, get a printer that takes seperate 'compatible' cartridges for all the component colours. The ultimate cost saving exercise

I bought one of these, yes it has introductory cartridges and no cable or paper. But I bought it to go with the wilkinson deal on the BOGOF HP Everyday Kit which this is compatible with this printer and comes with a 2m cable and a 100 sheets of 80g paper.

I buy original, sealed in foil 'expired' cartridges for my HP printer off eBay. I usually get them for a fraction of the price - a quarter/fifth most times (an older model to this).

An ]eBay search for compatibles for this printer (HP21 & HP22).
