Woo this is my first post!

I need to buy a laptop for work and entertainment for approximately £400. This seems like a great deal, it appears to be PC World's most popular clearance product, I'd love to know what people think. I've never bought refurbished so am struggling to jump straight in an buy it - peoples experiences of refurbs are so polarised. My other option is a Compaq CQ60-420SA from PC World - benefit of being new, but it's not as nice.

* 14.1" HD Widescreen Display

* 512 MB Graphics Memory
* Wireless Enabled, webcam, HDMI
* 2.4kg

My ex had a refurb laptop from Currys a couple of years ago and has never had any problem with it. I've had a fair amount of stuff from the Apple refurb site and it's always 'as good as new' - so I'd have no hesitation in buying refurb again. Obviously, check that you're getting a good price and that it's worth the saving.

I actually ordered this last night. what a coincidence! :thumbsup:

Got a superb refurb from PC World recently - 18" screen, Blu Ray, the lot. For a bit less than this one (£389.99)

It packed up within 2 weeks and has been back for repair - which was a bit tedious but painless, and I now know it has a new motherboard so should be good for a while. Hasn't put me off refurbs!

Thanks for the replies. Batjon I'd love to know what your impressions of build quality etc. are once you receive yours. I haven't been able to see any in the 'flesh' as it's an older model the shops don't stock instore anymore
