Oh, that's the complete opposite of your previous post, so if you didn't want to help and you're busy, why post here at all? Nevermind, forget I asked.

and Intel i5 - 4570 - from 2013.....BUT

cpubenchmark.net/cpu…896

CPU Benchmark of 7160 performs the same as a more modern Kaby lake I5-7400 or the older Skylake I5-6500

Intel's performance has stagnated over the past decade - processors just get a bit less power consumption and a few more CODEC's hard coded - if you're trying to decode 4K HEVC in software - you'd need the newer processors
if you're just gaming at 1080p, anything from the past 8 years'll work

As usual, don't forget to install an SSD
Wills make a pretty decent 1080p gaming PC with a 1050/1650 Low Proile.
does it have HDMI socket it doesnt list any but I see couple inputs at back that look like them.

No, these are "displayports"

Decent, add a cheap SSD and you've got a half decent little pc for not much money

What would be the minimum required nowadays for said 4k content, in terms of newer processors?

You could buy a cheap low profile GPU for decoding. GT 710 for example
You think it would fit a 1030 ? Was a bit worried abotu the PSU rating.

They were being pretty helpful in their first post. If you are asking for advice, "please" and "thanks" are not uncalled for.

They were helpful, but made a rather generic "newer" processor statement, another user simply asked to elaborate on that statement. Didnt come across rude to me, just because it was laden with pleases and thank yous.
This looks good. The display port adapters are quite cheap. 6 pound a piece on Amazon.
How much better is it compared to my aged laptop?:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3317U CPU @ 1.70GHz, 1701 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB

I'm looking for something to plug into my two hdmi screens and a displayport costs as much as this machine

Absolutely no problem as long as it's low profile bracket version. I think the only practical barriers to using a GT 1030 in any PC is form factor/bracket and BIOS on some old business PCs, as the power draw under full gaming load is only around 30-35W.

I ran one of these with a GTX 750 Ti and an i7 4790 no problem, then upgraded to a GTX 1080 using a pricey 3M cable and a separate PSU for the additional power, so the power supply to the PCIe port is definitely solid.
Keep an eye on eBay auctions, I purchased the prodesk equivalent of this, pretty much the same, without an HDD, for £72, and wouldn't have spent much more.
Heat added regardless.

In short, without a suitable dedicated GPU, ideally 7xxx series which would be on the G3 Elitedesk units, although 6xxx (G2 mainly) might be enough ( more info - https://www.anandtech.com/show/10959/intel-launches-7th-generation-kaby-lake-i7-7700k-i5-7600k-i3-7350k/6)

A GT 1030 in this will bring it up to date for video playback in terms of today's relevant codecs, although it is somewhat overdue a successor model.

@Affray I run one of these with a 1050ti and it copes fine. As mentioned previously you will need the low profile card and the one I got I had to take the back plate off (3 screws so no big deal).

Runs great and copes with moderate gaming.

Just don't buy a "cheap" 1050 from eBay (like I did originally) as there are loads of fakes from China.

Amazon warehouse is a good place to look...

I've been watching ebay auctions every day since last month when Itzoo failed to ship me the PC I ordered and paid for. Not a good impression for a first order and I've been wary of Itzoo since. That said, I may put my wariness aside because I have not so far seen anyone get a G1 HP bargain on ebay and some of the bids have been ridiculously high.

Good first post OP - heat added.

I'm a bit wary of them too at the minute since they sent me a pc which looked like it had been used as a football.

Waiting on a replacement, so fingers crossed.
Sold out?
Some may experience occasional random flashing screens when running a GTX1050 TI LP on this and other SFF PC's. It's well documented and the best fix I found was to -

1) Open Nvidia Control Panel.
2) Select manage 3D settings.
3) Select Power Management Mode and change it to Prefer Maximum Performance.

Job done

Note. This problem didn't occur when using the same setup on a GT1030 LP card, only the 1050.

Good tip, presumably because the default optimal/adaptive power setting delivers so little juice to the PCIe slot that there's not enough to keep the card performing properly.

Yep, the 1050's 75W power rating is probably the motherboards limit on these SFF PC's hence needing a more aggressive performance/ power setting.
