OK first post, price is for cash not first item on credit a/c at Very which would work out at £539 but cold voters will still probably vote this cold. it is a very good price for this even at the cash price. Kaby Lake i5 8gb ram and 256gb SSD.

the price seems really good!
I apologise for silly question but I am not an expert: if I open a credit a/c in very, may I pay the full amount for this laptop ? I don't need to split the payment.

A very account will get you 10% (not 20%) off electricals making it £540.

Looks like a top machine.
Kaby, FHD, IPS, NVME SSD.

Now if it was JL selling I'd snap one up.

£750 on JL, would they price match?

They don't price match online only retailers

Looks good. Never gone for anything smaller than a 15 inch screen so concerned may find it too small. Assume build quality will feel decent as it is normally a little more expensive everywhere else

What a deal, £70 cheaper than the HP Benefit store which already has £50 off the normal store.

Just ordered

How do you get it for £479.20? £599 plus postage for me...

Original Poster

Apologies it's 10℅ discount for opening a credit account so should be £539

Thanks, ordered.
I've been looking for a lightweight transportable laptop. I was just about to buy a surface book for 999. I'll see how this compares.

I've already got this laptop and am really happy with it and I've had many different laptops in my time.

been keeping an eye on prices of this and they never dropped to what I could afford so I ended up with an Acer R13 Chromebook which I'm happy with
this is a great price though with good reviews...heat added

i looked at the R13 too but wasn't sure if I'd be able to do all I want on a Chromebook, might have to get one for when I'm away from home.

Great, thanks for the info.

12 months interest free for me.

Would this run Sony Vegas? I'm going travelling in 3 weeks and this is the ideal size i was looking for

Really tempted by this as bar the fingerprint scanner it's 100% Ubuntu compatible...after much research! You can also upgrade the SSD at later date.

No fingerprint scanner on this as that was on an earlier model.

Great deal, if this is available in a few months I might go for it. I don't want to use the credit (other than to get the discount). I was thinking of a £350-400 laptop but have decided to wait and get something a bit nicer as I didn't like the build quality of the cheaper ones when I went to look at them

Use code KPAJ9 for 20% off your first credit order until 04/03/2017.

10% off all electrical and 20% off every other department.

does this suffer from coil whine like the XPS line?

you get 10% off electricals if you open a CREDIT ACCOUNT and usually they only give you a £300 credit limit to start with, so u will have 2 pay the short fall by card.

I got £1500 credit and haven't had an account before, was hoping to make use of the 10% discount.

Just be aware that the matte screen coating makes the display rather grainy which turned me off the laptop.

Are you referring to the previous version as I have this model and it's not a matte screen?

Ah silly me. I might be. My apologies. In that case heat!

I was going to post this myself yesterday as I thought it was a good deal, however I got distracted. It seemed a good deal but wondered what others thought.

Ironically I have £120 credit in my account as a good will gesture after purchasing a laptop which wasn't as described, before enduring terrible customer service when replacing then finally returning. I ended up writing to the man at the top.

I think i'm going to go for it, heat added.

ive been really pleased with it for Google docs, sofa surfing, watching movies and listening to music and chrome OS is really quick...two different types of laptop I guess but in hindsight I didn't need the features of a windows OS

Can't someone with this exact model let me know if it has a matte display or the edge to edge glass
Thanks

It's not Dell XPS edge to edge screen and the screen is not matte, you would see reflections in bright light.

Sorry I mean they do a version with a plastic bezel and one with glass covering the screen but it doesn't say which one this model has

How?
Bought last night for 539 + delivery.
Thanks and heat added.

Ordered, thanks for sharing
The discount didn't apply for me after opening the account, but got it sorted through chat.

Looks like a good machine and is well built but I just did not get on with the touchpad and ended up selling mine (I had the previous model which has the same chassis, design and hardware on the whole). I highly advise anyone considering this tries it out in a store if possible.

Looks like Very have been very sneaky and increased the price by £30.
