I too was confused. I know there's a refurb version on PC World at £404, so possibly an algorithm thing.

i think so too, looking at the specs of this model it's listed as 1tb SSD elsewhere.. if its a standard hard drive im still happy, if SSD then amazing!.. ordered and waiting for shipment thanks.. now all i need to do is find a decent Microsoft Office package.

It definitely won't be SSD, but it may be hybrid

Listed on HP site for £499 but 48 hr delivery. Probably the first sub £400 laptop with FHD.

Thanks ordered

The viewing angles on these could be better when watching video but otherwise a VERY sharp screen.

Full HD? Thank **** for that. Welcome to 2015.

Is that processor like an i5?

Anyone know if it consume a lot of power?
Does the finger print scanner really works?

It's listed as SSHD which is a solid-state hybrid drive (like the Momentus XT) - small SSD portion caching the mechanical part - sounds great in practice but in reality it's barely faster than a standard mechanical drive.

screen res?

Is there anyway a dvd drive can be added?

This has a 1TB SATA 5400RPM drive with 8GB FlashCache module.

Excellent price for the spec. I wonder if the hdd can be swapped to an ssd easily?

2.1KG is heavier than I would like, personally.
Also 6 hour battery life considering the size of the unit is on the low side.

Good for the money, though IMO

Dedicated graphics card? An older HUKD post suggests yes but I can't pin this down.

Sorry answered my own question in another 30 secs. Think answer is yes. Anyone got experience of track pad on this? The one on my work HP is useless.

If you don't need laptops you can easily build a PC that will perform very well for both of you for around £350 a unit. Although you would need mouse/keyboard/monitor on that.

Depends on your requirements.

hot!

Don't buy this computer. I have the i7 version with 16gb and the dedicated graphics and the display is terrible and cracked due to the weak design.

Any other laptop for £370 would... bit different for high end machines but for £370 its perfectly fine for the laptop.

hi sorry I should have put that . We currently have 2 computers which I'm gonna have to sell . We are gonna have to get laptops as need the room for nursery as were expecting a little person. its a shame we were gonna get little itx pcs but want something we can quickly put away and set up and a laptop would be perfect .

Bought. Nice find OP. Been on the look out for a decent priced 1080p laptop.

To be honest most laptops at this spec normally are up to £600. If you after a half decent gaming laptop then your looking at minimum £800+. This is a good deal for what you get.

Same here, just ordered too. I really was looking for a 1080p laptop with ssd but at this price with all the specs this has it seems to tick all the other boxes so I've gone for it.

Now just have to sit tight for 1-3 weeks

Thank you OP

something tells me i'll be receiving a cancellation email from amazon in the coming days

What is this processor like?

Just to add I think these may be eligible to claim a copy of Get LEGO Batman™ 3: Beyond Gotham. amd4u.com/gam…mo/

I bought a i5 version of this laptop around xmas directly from HP. Wanted to upgrade to a fhd display.
For just short of £500 it was a decent deal. Iv didn't need a high spec machine. But there aren't many basic laptops with full hd displays. In the end had to send it back because the hard drive failed after a week. I didn't like the laptop enough to bother with a replacement.
The screen is high resolution, but the TN panel used is of fairly low quality. Viewing angles are quite poor. SOmething you can expect on a sub £400 laptop. I was hoping for better at £500. Everything else about the laptop is quite impressive. Backlit keyboard, very sturdy and elegant build. Very slim for 15" but not very light due to use of aluminium. The hybrid HDD is as slow as a regular HDD. At least in my short experience with it before it died:/

This laptop is a very good deal. I have actually taken a punt. You get a decent laptop with performance somewhere between Intel's latest gen i3 and i5.

so this will work for other games also decent

The AMD cpu would worry me as they tend to run hotter than Intel and thus louder with the fan continually burring.

Can someone give more information on the CPU please?
