Hi,

I know things about computers. I don't really agree with your opinion and I own (pretty much) this laptop.

I really like it, I thought the touchscreen would be daft, but now I use it so much I start jabbing at other non-touchscreen laptops out of habit. I rarely use it in tablet mode but it's useful on occasion.

Previously I had a 17" Dell laptop with dedicated graphics and a quad core i7. I much prefer my dual core i5 integrated graphics HP. I rarely used the laptop for gaming and get so much more out of the HP x360 because it's light enough and the battery lasts long enough I can carry it around day-to-day. My gaming laptop never left the house and the battery, even browsing the web, struggled to last two hours.

These laptops offer an excellent experience for all everyday tasks. The idea that it has an "i7 processor you can't fully utilize" is just daft. You could flip that the other way and argue that it's not being fully utilized when paired with a dedicated graphics chip, as the Intel Iris chip sits idle.

Any decent laptop with Nvidia graphics will switch between using the Nvidia graphics and the integrated Intel graphics. This saves power without affecting performance, as the Nvidia chip will only be used when doing proper 3D gaming and such things. It's "turned off" the rest of the time. So, if you aren't planning on using a laptop for gaming, you don't need dedicated graphics at all as they'll never be utilized at all.

Thanks,
sneakybifta

Got the last one in Birmingham! As for complaints about the weight, people need to do some lifting bro

Wow. Hot!

Good deal. Personally not keen on the GPU

Is this full HD resolution?

Good deal. Do you have the Currys SKU number that you can provide by any chance? Thanks.

Sad (git) Can't go out looking for Currys bargains as yesterdays Currys bargains are being delivered between 9:30 and 10:30 :-ob

Git

My store never has good clearance. Usually "clearance" is £2 off a £200 item... or included bloatware you don't want.

Have a very similar laptop, identical except slightly different processor, larger SSD but no HDD.
Highly recommended. A steal at this price.

There's nothing wrong with it in this case. This is an ultra-portable, not a gaming machine.

1 available in Aylesbury branch. If you fancy buying a display piece which used to run atleast 8hrs a day

good luck to those that find it!

Review:

Nice build quality but nothing else particularly grabs me about this. 2.2kg is also pretty heavy and rules it out for tablet use.

It's integrated so it doesn't use it's own ram it uses the system. So more then gaming is compromised.
It has a i7 processor that you can't fully utilise but of the integrated gpu

Not a gaming machine though. And you can reduce the amount of RAM the GPU uses if you wish.

If you're buying a £500 laptop to play games on you're doing it wrong and you're gonna have a bad time.

So what you use this for?

Is this good for occasional gopro video editing and photo editing

Hi hysun,

Was a concern, in my store could've been running longer than 8 hours a day, nearly put me off. Bought it as I knew if I didn't I would've have the opportunity later and someone else was looking to purchase.

The condition is mint, but the battery is a concern, as not sure how easy it is to buy/replace. However, it does come with a years warranty, so if it doesn't have the 'up to 10 hours' advertised battery life could I get currys to replace the battery, or replace the whole thing entirely if they can't complete the repair/replace in 7 days?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with my warranty query 😊

Well maybe that was the wrong wording, it's certainly not a gaming laptop either. It's a 2 in 1 tablet-thingy.

Why would it need a GTX 1080?

The things this is is good for with that gpu I could buy a cheaper machine. Because it's integrated it will throttle the potential to if it had a stand alone. There have been better spec HP machines posted on here with a far superior spec

Opinions are not facts.

It's killing me having to wait an hour until lunchtime before I can dash out and try and get one! I tried ringing Currys to find if my local store has one but I ended up talking to some fairly odd guy on the phone who I was getting nowhere with. I think this is a pretty good deal!

Good price for a 2 in 1 if that's what you are after.

The one online has GForce 940 instead of Intel graphics, don't think that one is on reduce

Trust me.

No one is buying this machine to play AAA games or even old games on. It won't impact on what this machine will be used for, which is general productivity.

If you're going to buy something at this size and weight, you'd hope it would have a dedicated GPU at the very least. Doesn't have to be a 1080 but a MX150 or 940MX at least would have been good. Even an entry level dedicated GPU would make a difference to graphics performance as even non-gaming applications like Photoshop make use of the GPU.

Smadmad49 s ago

I haven't mentioned gaming once.

Why else would you need anything more than the built in Intel solution? CAD? You're not gonna be doing that on this machine either.

Picard12357 s ago

Photoshop is a poor example.

I think it's worth pointing out that this is not a quad core, it's the low power version of the i7 so it it's only a dual core clocked at 2.2GHz.

If you don't care about the 2 in 1 then the HP deal yesterday was much better IMO.
