Decent black prints and scanner though so still a decent cheap basic printer scanner with WiFi

Did they give you half empty cartridges or something? I don't think it's possible to print an entire colour cartridge on two pages

Thanks I will consider this.

If you print less than 15 pages a month, don’t select the free trial, select the ‘free’ option and they send you ink whenever you run out for free for the lifetime of your printer. If you take the trial you can’t ‘downgrade’ to the free option.

Really,I’ve printed around 10 pages (including photo’s) the cartridges are showing 3/4 full and I’ve already been sent my replacement set too.

Our old printer ran out of ink last week, instead of paying £30 for more ink I just bought one of these. Signed up for the 5 months instant ink and its working a charm, just make sure and pick the 300 pages to get the most out of it! Printer works perfectly fine, fast enough for what I need it for and is actually quicker than our old printer so that's a bonus.

Are you tied into some form of contract...?

Nope, you can cancel at any time, it just takes a monthly payment (after the free trial) but no contract.

I have one of these. Decent printer and scanner for the money. The instant ink thing would have been perfect for my needs but never got it to work. Went back and forth with HP support who couldn't resolve it. Always showed instant ink as disabled in the web control panel.
Great printer got mine two weeks ago for under £26 with Ebay code.
So maybe hold out for next one.
Just search Hp instant ink codes. There’s plenty still out there in eBay

These are old codes which don't work. Only one which works is FREEINK. And friend referral code.

Found hp instant ink to work like a charm. Always had my inks delivered and had good value out of the subscription. I'm currently on another free three months so chose the max package.

I agree, i signed up with a 14 month free subscription for 300 pages per months and whilst i've printed nowhere near that figure, the colour and black inks have been shipped well in advance of running out. Great service in my experience.
When you are on free months, you can switch up to the highest package (700 pages?) on the website - just remember to switch it back when it is using up credit. We had 6 months free at 700 pages, which we used to print a backlog of photos and papers, then switched down to 100 pages a month for normal use at £3.49, which has kept the ink running for over a year .

No problem. If you go over 15 pages it costs £1 for every additional 10 pages, the best thing for me with Instant Ink, is it only limits you on number of pages you use and not how much ink you’ve used so I can always print the best quality possible without worrying about how much ink I use, so I even print basic documents on best quality.
Can anyone help.

I bought a printer from argos with 4 months ink, when set up gave me only 2 months so ive returned and got this.

question is,will this 5 months just get added on to my 2 months,or should I make a new instant ink account?

EDIT: Just removed my old printer and enrolled this one, added the new 5 months to 7 months and then used FREEINK code.

I am sorry, but that is absolute tosh. I had 18 months of free instant ink (@ 300 pages per month) and the cartridges lasted for ever. Additionally, the replacements were sent out way before my cartridges ran out. And HP's online customer service has been amazing.

Now on the 15 pages free a month plan and again no issues at all. Try actually using the service before commenting on it? You dont ever have to order anything, the carts are automatically sent out. So not sure why you had to order and wait 2 weeks for a cart to arrive?

I’ve just read the terms concerning dropping down to the free plan, and as mentioned earlier once you commit to the trial your locked in an unable to downgrade to the free plan.

How did you manage to get the free plan after your 18 months?

Thanks

It has been a while since the change. But there either was an option at that point or I just used a different email id to set up a new account. Sorry, but I don't remember the specifics now.
I would of thought that you'd need to reset printer ,removed web service, make a new instant ink account and register it on the free plan.,can't see anyway to go back down, maybe ask chat also.
I've just got the printer how do I activate the 5 months free? Confused

Go to the Instant Ink website when you have bought your printer instantink.hpconnected.com/uk/…/l/ follow the step by step instructions and when selecting the subscription you want, scroll all the way to the left and select the ‘free’ option

It automatically added my 5 months at the end of the setup process through the android app. I then used referral code and FREEINK to get another 2 months.

Bargain for £34.99!
Thanks 711324. I had to take help of hp support and got it sorted. Looks like there was some issue. It showed just 2months ... thx all sorted

Just so that you know it is possible to have the 15 page free per month after having the trial

I've used it for 2 months now and the colour cartridge runs out after 2 A4 photo prints I don't know what you're talking about, and the cartridges are taking 10 working days to arrive which IS 2 weeks and I live in the city so not like that's an issue. Not sure why you're so offended by my experience do you work for hp or something
