No wonder this planet is f'd when it's cheaper/better to buy a new printer than ink to put in it.

" You get 3 months free printing". So not 12 months as in your heading? Where's the £32 prepaid card come from?

EDIT. Answer. Possibly. From the HP printer page :- "This special edition Printer ships with a £32 Instant Ink code which combined with the inclusive 4 months trial will give you a total of 12 months Instant Ink based on the 100 page per month plan. "

From this page :- (probably mangled by HUKD) store.hp.com/UKS…DEF
However, that HP page mention 3 InstantInk trial length. "12 months" in the title; "3 months" in the blue sticker; and "4 months" in the text.

12 months is on the Argos website. The £32 prepaid card is in the box so. 3 months free + £32/£3.49 = 12 months (100 pages per month).
What i have done is 300 pages per month. 3 free months + two codes to give you two extra months free = 5 months. Then £32/£7.99= 4 months. So overall 9 months of 300 pages per month.

But the idea is that you don’t buy ink cartridges with this printer Have a look at what Instant Ink is.

I know what it is.
Point being that you're still trashing an otherwise functional printer. Had ink been 50p a cartridge or similar, you wouldn't necessarily fork out £50 on a new printer.
Well, cartridges are also on offer; there’s a big groupon at the moment for cartridges if you don’t want a new printer. Instant ink is also compatible with a lot of printers produced in the last few years, might be worth checking if your model is covered. You also don’t need to trash a printer; you can sell, donate or recycle it. Nobody is making anyone throw away printers and buy new ones. It could be in your financial interests to do so, but if you’re a person of principle, keep buying those cartridges.
You can also get an additional month if you get 'someone' to give you an instant ink referral code. I found this to be very useful when I signed up.

Thanks. Date set in diary.
I have two HP Instant ink printers on two different Email addresses. This way, when you use account 1 for the new printer on account on account 2, you get a free months printing on each printer when you use the account referral code.
