Much better features than the Curry’s deal previously posted, even if it is more expensive. Seems a lot for an inkjet until you realise that the deal is really for a year’s printing (with a code from an existing subscriber) at up to 1,500 pages a month, full colour.

Best value for a heavy user or a small business looking to cap costs. Although you don’t have to do a huge amount of printing these days to spend £80 a year on ink, making this deal worthwhile.

Can’t comment on this particular printer but for me the Instant Ink service has been flawless.

Sadly for me the first month was marred by the fact that HP failed to deliver replacement ink - nothing to do with Royal mail striking - HP hadn't provided RM with the ink to post! So a few complaints later and they expressed shipped a new set via DHL express. I couldn't print (I did not see the need to buy ink) for over a week. I complained more (a lot of effort!) and they provided me with an extra month "free". Still it doesn't take away from the fact that I couldn't print and would have to purchase my own ink (at more than the cost of the printer!) which runs the risk of not working!

Re high ink costs, below, that doesn't apply if you use Instant Ink, of course, but do check Instant Ink prices. It's a good deal if you print roughly the number of pages covered by your subscription. But if your sub includes more pages than you print, or you print more pages than your sub includes, the average cost per page can be very high.

WHICH? VERDICT
High ink costs
The prints you’ll get on the HP Envy Pro 6430 are acceptable, but at a price. Running costs are very high and it takes an age to print. It’s not a bad printer, but there are better models out there.

I got 13 months @ 700 pages a month for free (granted the extra month was due to an Instant ink mess up and given as a gesture of good will) I plan to cancel after 13 months and buy a real printer.

Been using instant ink for years, it’s great.

Anyone new, you can get 1 months free with code FREEINK and another 3 free months using a referral code which can be obtained from any existing instant ink subscriber.

I used to use various HP printers/scanners for many many years without issues and was able to freely use compatible ink/toners
but sadly now the build quality is very poor and HP forcing firmware updates that dont allow you to use compatible inks/toners

Customer services again were great but lately very poor.

HP one of the most expensive companies for genuine inks just google….

Consumers have a legal right to choose and fit compatible inks/ toners but HP have went down a dark road with forcing you to buy HP branded ink and forced firmware updates so i stopped using and went to another brand.

Just my personal opinion of HP printers/scanners but others will sing praises
