You sure do!
This laptop minus the reflective glass touch screen would be perfect.
Impressive spec in a compact and light package.
Battery life is pretty poor if that’s of importance to you.

Can you define poor please? Happy with less than spec, but not if it's way out! Thank you in advance.

Comparison to these? I can get the latter for £880 with work discount. 8gb ram but better CPU. First one is clearly more but with dedicated graphics?

The first one has 16gb Ram and a 1050 (capable of playing newer games). There's not a massive gain between the 8th and 10th gen i7's.
I picked up this laptop on friday. Absolutely loving it so far. Feel free to ask me any specific questions (Y)

Performance is snappy, the build is fantastic, no flex. It's a little heavy and battery seems about 8 hours when browsing with chrome.

Thermals seem very good, when browsing it doesnt even get warm underneath. The touchscreen and pen are nice but i'll likely never use them

Edit: It will charge via the USB C port, but I only have a 25w charger and it only charges when the unit is sleeping or turned off.

Absolutely isn't that bad... Looking at your post history you have the 2700u model which is less efficient. The newer reviews have said the 3 series are better in battery life.

The official specs list the 2700u at 10 hours and the 3700u at 13 hours.

That's a 30ish% improvement

I didn’t bother looking in depth at the specs for this deal, my bad. I can assure you though the battery life on mine is nowhere near what’s advertised.

Maybe 15% slower single core and similar multicore performance

It's less efficient though so you'll see more battery drain on the AMD side.

The AMD has significantly faster graphics performance though than the 8 series intel chips.

Is the AMD chip what’s preventing this deal getting hotter?

looks like a very good spec and decent build / materials (envy range) laptop for the price.

Seems that way. It is kinda expensive spec wise when compared to a gaming laptop. However they're much thicker and less portable

Just for info - I've got the i7 version.

You CAN charge via USB c (if high enough USB c power) even when on.

I got a hefty USB c battery pack, which will recharge 50% of laptop battery (albeit slowly) while in full use!

Excellent kit.

I have a slightly issue with the display which I think is due to the built on electronic privacy screen duntio9.

Basically the screen always seems a little darker either side of where you are viewing, as you move your head side to side.

Had the screen replaced at 2 months old due to total display failure but Love it nevertheless

I toyed between all of these similar models.

I went for the hp eventually, not least because (my version at least) fully supports full USB c with thunderbolt, so supports an eternal thunderbolt graphics card - some future proofing and allows for AAA games via more powerful external gpu in the future.

Yes - difficult to get decent gaming gpu (I compromised on mine having 1050ti) on one of these 2 in 1...

If you're happy with a conventional laptop format, no touchscreen and lower battery life, there are better laptops for (low end) gaming at lower prices...

I don't have anything beefier so can't try. Maybe it would be fine with a 45/65w usb c charger. Using a phone charger maybe only works when it's off, so it doesn't draw too much

Yep - from memory it needs to be minium of 45 Watts, and if you plug in via a USB c hub, then the hub drains a surprising amount off that 45 watt etc
Another quick point -

Most of the HP models now seem to support 50% battery recharge within 45 mins while turned off.

So if desperate, a quick 45 mins mains charge while powered off, should give you a few more hours battery use for rest of day etc

I got this one, and it will charge (maybe take an hour from memory?) the laptop back from zero to 50%, even while I'm using the laptop.

I expect it would charge a lot quicker with the laptop off...

The amd version doesn't have thunderbolt so I'm nervous to spend money if it doesn't work without borrowing somebody's first.

Yes I tried without much success, to determine what the minimum requirement was.

I think it's 45 watt minimum on usb c, but you could always try the one in suggest on amazon - black Friday deals especially - and send it back if no good...

I.e only charges when powered off or sleeping if it's small

So firstly HP used to restrict usb c charging to HP official chargers...

They got a slating for it.

So eventually they released a bios update (which I don't think release notes admitted to) that removed the "please plug in an official hp charger" message.

If you plug in a lower wattage charger, I think it says "slow charging" when it's on.

Let me check and get back to you

Okay. When I plug a low wattage on, it doesn't do anything. The light next to the barrel jack doesn't come on either.

If I sleep or shutdown the light comes on and it will increase the battery
I'm looking for a capable desktop/laptop combo for photoshop, video editing, heavy everyday use. This looks good but I'm also looking at this laptop as the the spec seems higher minus the easily upgradable RAM. Topcashback also offering a possible 15% back on Hp gaming laptops from curry's. Any advice from the pros?

Honestly I don't know. I don't do either that often. I'd imagine video conversion 100% loads the CPU. It holds 3.2Ghz on all cores when stress testing the CPU. It might be worth looking at benchmarks.

Over the weekend I might install lightroom and do some basic photo editing and let you know, im sure it will handle it fine as it scores similar to my old i5 desktop and that was okay when editing.
Thank you Ben, much appreciated
