I dont think there is a lot in it, although the Aldi may shade it technically .

The Aldi has a larger hard disk, better graphics support (HDMI, DVI etc) and USB 3.0. I think the Aldi has wirless LAN built in as well.

But the HP has a modern i3 processor, and being from HP one hopes you would get better support than from Aldi.

I agree, HP service is quite good - use them in our office and at home.

medion/aldi service is acceptable, may not be as quick/efficient as hp but in terms of value for money, the medion pc comes out on top. the problem i found with medion pc's/laptops is that they tend to get quite hot so require a well ventilated space during operation... back to the deal. voted hot as new processor and would serve fairly well as a multimedia pc

If you had to shell out on just one PC - what would you go for? this or the Aldi offer?

Interesting comment about HP support. My friend had a HP printer with problems and they were terrible. Wanted £15 to speak to him. Fortunately he had bought from John Lewis who were excellent. I have always had good service from ALDI and it should come with a 3 year warranty. The other problem with HP is they have a load of rubbish software on the hard drive. Trial versions and they all need cleaning off before you start. HP printers are terrible for ink costs. Maybe in a corporate environment you get better service from HP and no one cares about the costs.

I have dealt with HP for business support and have had nothing but very good experiences. I have heard a lot of people complain about the consumer customer services though.

Aldi, have experienced both and nothing wrong with the HP but the Medion is by far the better deal.

seems the Aldi machine is hard to come by?....sold out in the stores by me......plus this is £40 cheaper so I may take a punt........ta for the replies

Tough call... The Medion gets my vote. Although not a great card I'd take the ATI 6450 over the Intel.
The X4 640 processor benches slightly better too (though possibly less efficient).

Aldi offer sold out in every store in the UK. - with no stock coming back in.

So the HP it is

Problem is they don't give you a windows 7 disk which i think is a bit of a shame. The recovery is on a partition which is a down side for those of us who like to swap hard drives from time to time, delete partitions etc.. I always delete the recovery partition if the windows disk is available. Pity.

I am referring to the HP. Don't know about Aldi.

why not following PC from the same site. It's 70 pounds cheaper. (329/- delivered) and quidco and hp offer code can be applied on that also.

h40059.www4.hp.com/uk/…ect

only difference is the processor but AMD Athlon II X2 245 is on par with intel i3. You can search for the comparison (I did).

I bought this PC when it earliar came with monitor offer(here at hotukdeal!).
It's an absolute brilliant PC. I won't pay 70 pound premium for intel processor.

Im guessing this has a shared graphics card?? Would it make a good low end gaming/ mutlimedia (photoshop) PC ?

Is this better than the Op's posting @ £359?

Ah, I didn't see the 5 year HP on site warranty.

This looks a good deal, im tempted to buy it myself.

How does Windows 7 run on 2mb? Would it be worth adding more memory?

My experience of HP machines is that they encourage you to make a full set of your own recovery disks on initial start up, in case of hard disk failure etc.

Back in stock!

I have ordered it with the HP 10% offer, but quidco/topcashback is now 6%
Also the free 2nd yr warranty is no longer offered ( now they are offering 1 yr Nortons anti-virus protection instead), so I paid with Nationwide credit card & hopefully NW card will cover the 2nd yr warranty.
