I personally think this is a good deal, its about the same as my dell one which was the Vostro 1000 which got loads of heat !

A great price for this HP laptop featuring AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core processor, 2GB RAM, 120GB storage and a 15.4" widescreen display
it also says it can play and record DVD's so im sure it has DVD Re-Writer

see what you all think folks

thanks clay, i was looking for somewhere to really pick up from store so they know they have it and dont have to wait on delivery lol
esp with xmas coming up, you never know what deliverys will be like

If you're a virgin credit card holder you can purchase Comet Vouchers at 13% off which could be used to pay for the laptop when you collect from store. This brings the price of the laptop down to £348 which is a cracking deal!! Still a good price without the extra discount though and voted hot!!

thanks for the heat mate

in the market for a new lappy, and thats the sort of price range, just did a quick search and can now find one a few miles away.

how does the virgin vouchers work, if they have to arrive in the post i dont suppose i'll get them before christmas now and who knows if it will be this price after christmas, although saying that - is there such thing as january sales, i might pick up a cheap on them.

You either purchase them online from the Members Store or phone them up. They can be purchased using your credit card, loyalty points that you've earnt from credit card purchases or a combination - the vouchers are 13% saving in actual terms and here is the link:

uk.virginmoney.com/mem….do

You are correct in that they are posted to your home address so there is some delay. Once you have received them, you then purchase the item for collect at store and pay for it using the vouchers. The other method I have used is for an 'online pirce' only, where you call up Comet sales and they hold the item for you at that special price awaiting payment with the vouchers and then you send them the vouchers as payment. Yes I appreciate this can be a hassle with registered post etc etc, but depends how far you are willing to go for the 13% saving!!!

Not a huge difference overall, but I believe the TL-58 processor will have somewhat more muscle than the TK-53 in the Comet laptop. Would still prefer to go Intel on a laptop, mind.

Remember there's rebate (usually £30 or £50) to be had from most HP laptops until 31st December!

any more details on the HP cashback please??

Rebate???

this exact same Laptop has been £399.99 at Staples ever since we got them in about 6 weeks ago, its a suprisingly great price for such a good spec machine. the only one that is close to that price is a Fujitsu core2duo laptop for £449 but HPs are better makes than Fujitsus i reckon.

If you live near a Staples just get it from there, they been big sellers at the Wigan branch.

I will be honest we are buying for my sister who will not really be playing games .I might .
Iam really torn apart on which deal.
