Maybe not a TomTom but a great buy at the price?

Haven't checked but hopefully the software update will resolve some of the issues the reviewers found.

Looks good as I'm looking for one with European maps. Will check first though to see if the s/w update has fixed the probs in that review...

78mph down Broadway?! trying to outrun taxis!

The interface on this looks sweet, in fact the whole unit looks sweet and it's a great price.

Problem is, after using a Garmin temporarily (just one journey-it was enough) it was almost embarrasing to see how far behind TomTom they were. So I'd be a bit sceptical about buying any non TomTom unit in the future.

That article says:

We were very enthusiastic when the HP iPAQ 314 was first announced. Now … We were very enthusiastic when the HP iPAQ 314 was first announced. Now we’re mainly left with a feeling of disappointment. Because based on what HP is currently shipping, they are nowhere near being a threat to the market leaders TomTom, Garmin and Mio.

Worse than Garmin? I shudder at the thought.

Funny that, last time I used a TomTom it was terrible. The maps were new, but they were just so wrong. The unit also fell to pieces once you went under a bridge.

Saying that, I did just buy a TomTom GO 720, and I must say their online service is cool. Dunno what the navigation's like though.

Well guys, I bought one a couple of weeks ago when they were on offer at ebuyer for £125 and I can say that even though I have only done a couple of trips with it I found it ok. Sure its not a tomtom, but to be honest, at this price with all the extra features it's a better bit of kit.

I have also been told that because it is windows CE operating system it can be easily hacked to use the tomtom software along with a load of other available windows CE applications.

In my opinion (sure loads of you will disagree) its a very good price, you can't go wrong.

Also in stock at Dabs.com at £104.57 with 4% Quidco and the £30 HP cashback.

Does anyone know if you can get, or where you can get, a traffic module for this.

Alas my car stereo has'nt got a traffic update selection as i bought it from hong kong, if i can get a module i'll buy this sexy wee beast.

I'm sure I saw one on the ebuyer website for about £30.

Bit of an odd question, but how does the picture viewer work? If I dumped a load of pictures in different folders on a SD card, can I browse the folders or does it just bring up all the photos on a card?

Hope all who wanted it at this great price placed their orders! I ordered mine!

It is now gone up by £26 so if you want one you need to go to Dabs.

Anyone know how to put TomTom on it?

Wondered why I coudnt get the cashback inclusive price down below £98.71
Off to Dabs then .... >>> dabs.com/pro…y=0
BTW .. I coudnt get the original cashback form link to work, but heres the one from dabs

Obviously wasn't the same as the Nuvi 760t I've just bought

Im completely confused.

I placed two orders for the HP Ipaq 314 on expansys. Two separate orders because i wanted to take advantage of the 10 pounds savings i could get. So they went through, i got confirmation.

Then 10 minutes later i get an email saying that i must have pressed the refrest button by mistake and that the second order has been cancelled because i probably didnt mean to make two orders! There was about 10mins between each order though!?

THEN, i got an email saying my credit/debit card details are incorrect. Followed by another email saying my item is ready to be dispatched by i have ommitted the postcode..errr..NO, i specifically remember writing down my postcode. Am i the only one with this problem? What seems to be going on?

Completely baffled!!
