Great spec.
I can't believe it's not a Lenovo
Word internet music emails are fine with a £200 laptop. And i5 for £600 is too steep
Not full HD either

8th generation core i5 processor, nice.
8GB 2400MHz DDR4 RAM, nice.
256GB SSD would want to know the speeds, but probably good.
720p display...
Oh FFS, that was going so well!

currys.co.uk/gbu…tml This has SSD and is £70 cheaper. Unless you prefer bigger screen

Whilst they maybe fine on a £200 laptop it'd still be a horrible experience dealing with a Celeron or worse processor, no SSD etc tbh if it were me for what you want to do you could pick up something for about £349. I got an i3, 1TB hard Drive, 8GB RAM Acer Aspire for £299 and added an M2 SSD to it for £50 and that is a really fast system for under 350.

I don't think it's an unreasonable price for this spec with an 8th Gen CPU. If he thinks this is overpriced for what it is where are their better deals and you certainly won't get close to an i7 at this price point all the i5 8th gens are around this area

33166246-rVIwF.jpgDoes this seem a decent spec for price? (Dell Outlet 'scratch & dent')

Should we not worry too much about an 8th gen processor and go for a 7th gen, would that be fine for the next few years? And is it relative easy to put in an SSD if needed? Or something a computer shop would do for us?
