Decent starter laptop, perhaps for students starting university. Not the highest specs but will suit the average user.

Note that this coupon was originally found itxweather and that it seems to be applicable to any of the HP products.

Sub £300 laptops are v popular weeks before school terms in September innit.

Those poor parents

Don't forget £5.86 delivery

is there any codes for free deliverey or can we go through quidco

an extra £75 (was £50) would get u a decent spec dual core dell with 2gb ram.

Any ideas where from?

dell had a one for £350 (vostro range) though it has gone up in price to £375 but i reckon they will reduce it again - hopefully bank holiday weekend.

Strangely I went thru kelkoo where the same laptop is £309 then applied the "HPOPTF" and it comes to £269 with free p&p.

think this is the cheapest around at the moment - although pls do add any new dell deals for the bank hols (altho as you know, they are due to update new deals next thurs - haven't heard of any changes b4 then)

For a bit of perspective HP America has a budget laptop going for £226...

You can access kelkoo via quidco and get a whopping 10p cashback!! Every little helps...

This machine is actually pretty decent for the money, you know Celerons aint what they used to be - they can actually perform pretty well nowadays.

Rpoints gives you 2% on business orders, whatever that means on HP orders, which I reckon would apply to this anyways.

I expect kelkoo is something similar, so that's nearly £6 wasted because quidco doesn't have HP

Yeah they do!

4%

but last time i used it, it never tracked... :?

Actually 3% if u r a consumer

Can anyone find a full spec list for this laptop? My Missus is off to uni in a few weeks and I promised her a laptop...

Thanks schizoboy for the kelkoo info - will update the headings now

Just ordered thru kelkoo for £269 delivered.

My bad, I think I assumed quidco didn't have it.

I expect kelkoo route is still the cheapest though.

Original Poster

Yes, quick calc shows kelkoo cheapest route. btw, don't suppose their will be a stock issue as coming straight from manuf.

A doubt...

If your going via Quidco -->kelkoo --> hp,
will we get quidco associated to kelkoo and HP ?

Calculating Quidco's benefit from HP, it comes around 8 quid. (if HP tracks).
I guess, if we are not getting Quidco's benefit of 8£ if we are going via Kelkoo, is it beneficial directly to go to HP site and buy at 274£ - 8£(quidco at 3%) = 266£ ?

Original Poster

too late for me to waste time making calcs - already ordered thru kelkoo at £269 - mind is addled enough after a long day at this keyboard...

is wireless capability built in to this model??? :?

Yes, comes with a Intel PRO/Wireless 54Mbps Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g Mini PCI

802.11g wireless is pretty much 100% standard on all new laptops now.

Remember to add the cost of 512 meg of internal ram as 1/2 gig is not recommended for running Visata.. . .good deal though

Good point packard:]

Scan on is not DDO-RAM laptop ram, it's too big... the ebuyer one looks like it is though

To get QuidCo and the £309 price for the HP 530 this should work...

Have updated the OP to point to this. Thanks rayman.

Edit: with quidco and the voucher applied this prices the machine at £261.89 after quidco cashback arrives. If quidco fails it's £269.

Too late, went thru kelkoo originally. I'll get the ram upgarde thru ebuyer though unless anyone knows cheaper..........

sorry, how is it 261.89 after quidco?

Please note, this is a consumer buy and will get only 3% via quidco.. and price is 274£ after code. So will come around 8£ only.

Good deal but you really need 1gb of ram for vista....
still voted hot

I thought there would be a few more offers around Aug bank holiday for student laptops but this seem to be the only real sub £300 bargin. Still I couldn't be happier chosing this one along with the ram upgrade from "crucial" who work out cheaper than "ebuyer". Thanks Applesink for the originasl post.

anyone know if this has a pcmcia slot?
