Last two days of Black Friday sale:

I've just ordered a spectre x360 with the original price of £999
15% off with the code: SAVE15
and then claim back £100 cashback once you receive the laptop here: hpcashback.com

So £750 for a really premium product, a saving of £250

I called them yesterday and they confirmed that they will combine the two deals.

plus 1% topcashback at the moment

A very awesome machine.

Certainly look like HP are being opportunist because of the so called black Friday, I have seen all week laptops being reduced to £110 or less HP selling them £200 less 15% there is no bargains here at all, just greed.

Could you still get cashback on this through Quidco/Topcashback?

you've just described capitalism. Companies will sell products for the highest price they can, it's our responsibility as consumers to decide if that constitutes a good deal for us or not.

I suggest that the x360 offer I posted is a good deal, but you're looking at other laptops it seems

Did you check the qualifying products in the page? I cannot find spectre while using their search

this looks good was thinking of this zenbook

this is £50 but comes with bigger SSD. Any other major differences between the two?

yup. if you're talking about the 15% they have loads of x360 spectre and if you're talking about the cashback it seems to be all the x360 models just check the number

Kind of agree - it's not a mega saving but these laptops are in a different class to some of the lower end laptops offered on Black Friday sale. 15%+100 cashback is, well a good 25% off a £1000 laptop.

Entirely up to you of course but I'd suggest checking some reviews out on that Zenbook model. Apparently doesn't quite live up to the hype...

Are any of the x360s available with Kaby Lake chips? it looks like these are Skylake last gen chips (not that there's much of a difference...)

lol I recorded the phone call. Why are you still commenting on this if you're not interested?

So just did a bit more digging. £250 off is a good deal but this is the older model of the x360. Was recently upgraded and re-engineered so although tempting I might give this one a miss this time.

Yes, I thought that too. The pictures in this review show the main differences - have a look at the bezels in the pictures:

techradar.com/rev…016

£250 off a laptop is still a good deal though

There's late 2016 model comes with kaby lake chip, thinner bezels overall the form factor is smaller than this one, this one packed with ports, the new one follows the Apples trend

Have these been released in the UK yet? I couldn't see them on HP's own UK store.

Off topic but I think the best bang-for-buck premium laptop is the Lenovo 710 or 710s. A couple of issues but nothing seems to match its general all-round abilities for £700...just my opinion though...

You are missing a point, it is neither capitalism nor socialism, it is misleading usage of the meaning of "Black Friday" & Cyber Monday. It is a point of expectation of how these two days are conveyed to the person.
To ram my point forward with an everyday example of expectation:
When your reward scheme company tells you it is your birthday and gives you a loaf of bread, it is not just capitalism.

Just looked at one of the spectre 4126na, picture shows black laptop, while spec says ash silver... Anyone know if Ash silver is the black one?

I don't think so.
They may drop the price again tomorrow for cyber Monday.

Ridiculously over priced for what you're getting. Why people are claiming this is a "premium" laptop, baffles me.

I recently spent £550 on a laptop (Acer Aspire S 13).

They both have an i5. Both have 1080p screen. Both have 8GB RAM. Both have 256GB SSD. Both have a webcam. Both have a backlit keyboard. Both have the same size screen. Both have an IPS panel.

Differences are: Aspire isn't a 2-in-1. Aspire has a plastic body, not metal. Aspire doesn't have a touch screen.

Other than that they're basically the same, but for a £200 premium. If you're spending £750 on a laptop you can probably do better than this. I personally always think that HP laptops are massively over priced for what you get.

On top of that laptop I also bought a Lonova Yoga 700 for £200, which isn't too far off this, despite being less than a third of the price.

Cold for me. Too much throwing around of the word "premium" when it means nothing but "small bezel and metal body". On top of that an over-priced and over-rated laptop.

Sensible perspective! But I guess that's true of everything - some people like BMWs, some like Fiestas (like me!):)

I was looking at the s13 too - lots of decent reviews. A lot of people say the fan is really noisy tho when doing more intense work on the s13. How do you find yours?

It's not noisy, but it is high pitched. To get the laptop so small they chose a small fan which revolves faster, compared to a bigger fan that revolves slower. This means that it makes more noise. If you're one of these people who need to work in complete silence then it may be a pain for you, although for me personally I barely care.

It's gorgeous though and feels really "premium" ;). The keyboard is surrounded by metal, and it's nice to type on. Boots up in around 10 seconds. Screen is really nice and colourful and I've only had to charge it up once in 3 days so far, despite watching youtube for hours on it.

On top of that it is possible to get inside of it and change the battery, clean out the fans and replace the SSD in future if you wanted to upgrade.

All in all I'm very happy I got it - it looks very nice (The reason I bought it is because it looks so different from every other "metal slab" out there), it runs fast, it doesn't get hot, the sound was better than I expected, the screen is nice, easy to type on, battery life can be as long as 10 hours+. A lot of reviews gave it a 4/5 and said "It's great, but you should get the XPS 13", which always annoyed me as the XPS 13 is almost twice the price!

As always, don't expect to be playing games or doing anything hugely heavy, like video editing, on this. It has no GPU and will not run them well.

Topcashback have a deal with flubit at the moment - 8% cash back on any demand. That's how I ended up getting it for the £550~. Could be a good time to buy, but the cashback ends today.

Yep this is a very good deal and HP have confirmed to me over the phone that this model is also eligible for the £100 cashback too. The reason why they're selling these cheap is that the newer refresh model is about to be released in the UK...don't know what date though (HP won't tell!), but I wouldn't be surprised to see it out in time for Christmas.

The new model is more of a silver colour, lighter and smaller but still keeps the same screen size due to thin bezel. Processors are new Kaby Lake 7th Gen Intel Core, which combined with a slightly more powerful battery mean that the new model battery will last approx 20-25% longer. Ports have been updated too. Most reviewers rate it very highly and expect the selling price for the equivalent model to the one in this offer to be around £1,000-£1,200.

But this current model is still a fantastic premium laptop, and at £750 after cashback it is definitely a bargain....I'm very very tempted, but I may wait to catch the new version a few weeks after release when we should see the first price drops/offers - maybe Jan/Feb time...

wow an extra 20% battery? The one i've ordered is coming out at about 11 hours from the reviews i've read

yep - but always careful re what manufacturers say about battery life. see Kevin Lee's review on TechRadar (17th October 2016) - the quick charge feature on this looks excellent.

Yes - expect the new one to be in the region of £1k at least. The 'old' £750 one you have was in fact new in Spring 2016 and is still a great machine at a fantastic price - one reviewer even said he would choose it over the new one, as the old one has more usable ports (e.g. it has an SD card reader) and it still has a great battery.
