    Thanks for posting OP.

There's also £50 potential cashback via HP Promotions.
Fantastic yes it does look like it's eligible for the £50 cashback!

Patiently waiting for a printer deal with 500+ heat that isn’t anything to do with limited trials of ‘instant ink’. I don’t want to be wedded to any subscription programme, i don’t care if it’s unlimited pages for free for 6 months. All I want is to print stuff (in decent quality) in a blue moon for years to come for the best price. Open to suggestions lol.

I’ve had an alert for ‘printer’ for 7 months and only see 3d printers and printers with instant ink! I am patient though (edited)
Look at Brother printers, well made and clone carts are easily available.

How much is the toner to replace?
£40 for 1100 pages or £60 for 2400 at the usual 5% black coverage.

Clone carts did not yet appear to be available for this and may never be, so base any purchase in buying genuine toner, and if compatibles come out consider it a bonus down the line…

Thank for posting OP. I'm after a laser printer and this seems like a good deal. Be good to know as @GreekJesus asks.
can you get chipped tonner cartridges for this I used to get them for my dell printer off ebay

if you use the free trial they block you from using 3rd party toner

Do I have to keep my Instant Ink subscription for HP+ to continue working?

No. Customers can choose to participate in Instant Ink, which provides convenience and 70 percent on "HP original Ink3 or 50 percent on HP Original Toner4", or purchase Original HP Ink or Toner directly from the retailer of their choice. HP+ printers requires the use of Original HP Ink or Toner to operate even after expiration of the Instant Ink trial. (edited)
Note the last sentance . You DO have to use original toner, HP do use chipped toner carts, and the chips cannot easily be copied so you have to buy HP toner afterwards.
Quite a few of the recent HP chips have not yet been decoded and reversed that would allow you to put on on a 3rd party toner cart.

whats the chances of actually getting the £50 cashback on this?
Well, I think it boils down to this clause

"This Promotion may not be combined with any other promotional offers or special pricing offered on the HP Qualifying

Such a woolly, easy to get out of, term. Given that the usual price is currently in the range of £150 (argos) - £179 (Viking), then I wouldn't be shocked if the current Amazon price (£97.50) represents 'special pricing'.

    worth reading reviews here
"My big regret in buying this model is that it MUST be connected to the internet in order to properly function."
    "continually looses conectivity" etc.

i really do not like this concept of having to connect via wifi internet for *everything*

internet goes down you cannot print. (edited)
Its not quite that bad, HP+ printers will work without internet for a short time (think days) so will work if your connection goes, but they can't be used fully offline for any length of time. You'll get some warnings about lack of connection and if its not restotred the printer will then just not print until it gets to talk to HP again

Instant Toner monthly subscription prices for anyone that is interested

    £1.99 for 50 pages, rollover up to 100 - 4p per page
    £3.49 for 100 pages, rollover up to 200 - 3.5ppp
    £12.99 for 400 pages, rollover up to 800 - 3.25ppp

and so on, slightly cheaper than the Instant Ink per page.

Big jump from 100 to 400 though

    Ok, shouldn’t be heavy.

After the free trial is instant toner more expensive than instant ink?

Hi clearly a great deal but need some colour - anyone have any good similar recommendations? I can’t find anything on offer with the cashback

    GREAT deal! Ordered!

Isn't it possible to extend the instant ink free trial with a referral code? I've gone for it, decent deal if the cashback pays out.

how soon after buying do you need to activate? My current deal ends in a month or so...
Past HPs have activated the trial period when first unboxed and powered up, not at a calendar time (ie has to be activated by dd/mm/yyyy) although HP do stop and change lengths I doubt a month will make a difference..
