I got the similar m266 when they were on offer at £149, good printer and none of the problems you get with inkjets.
Promotional period expired 31/01/2018. Also this printer qualified only £50. I am not sure it is worth to buy.
How many sheets do you get out of one toner and how much does the toner cost

So £300 approx for a full set that give you 1300 sheets or £400 for 2.5k sheets. High ongoing costs.
IMO. Buy a new hp all in one from currys for £50 get 9 months free colour instantink 300 sheets pm , buy an older second hand hp laser printer under £50 the toners give you 7000 sheets and cost £28 for compatible good quality ones from stinkyink a hp partner and which recommended. Just my thought if you are doing lots of printing
Colour laser for low volumes every time over throwing ink jet refills away. Watch the laser footprint though if for home use

I'm after a colour laser for my son's school work, never thought about buying 2nd hand, can you recommend any decent ones. Not a big fan of desk jets, the ink runs out super quick or they seem to suffer from a host of other issues.

this should suffice for 1 year at least, you get 9 months free instant ink trial, signup to the 300 sheets per month package and you will get free ink sent in the post to you by HP for 9mnths. you can print upto 300 sheets per month, after 9 months downgrade to the free package 15 sheets pm or pay £1.99pm for 50 sheets. currys.co.uk/gbu…868
Go for hp LaserJet series. Black and white ones are small and very cheap to run and last for years eg 1300. Colour is very useful for kids work though I have an m175a which scans and copies and a whole set of toner (all 4 colours) is just 18 pounds on Amazon (1200 pages). Try freecycle

Aye... Just expensive drum and fuser problems, toner spills, etc.
I stopped buying HP printers about 10-15 years ago when I discovered that, having bought their flagship laser all-in-1, I found that it was incompatible with Windows 7 and HP confirmed to me that they did not plan to release a Windows 7 driver for it. I know where they can put their printers now...

I'm pretty sure you can't downgrade to the free package, you have to choose it from the initial set up and so then don't benefit from 300 pages per month, but you can downgrade to the £1.99 one. At least, that's my current experience having done similar with 9 months free etc.

Just go on ebay and see any local to you aw they are a abit big so I might get a bargain got one for 99p. Looks like there's enough for around 4000 black pages and 5000 blue colour and the other 2 abit low maybe 1000 pages still. So will throw it away after or sell on.

or £121 for compatables amazon.co.uk/Hal…ink

I am sure these must come down as my HP ( which is a few years old now) is 30-40 for a full set.
I have one of these printers and they are excellent. Used heavily for the past year and it it works perfectly with my windows 10 pc's and android handset and tablets. It also does duplex printing, scan to email etc. Have some heat.

Hi, did you setup the printer? I managed to get 13 months free with hp 5546 yesterday,
The instant ink stuff is a way to move people to a monthly subscription that they’ll forget about and pay forever. Even if 1 in 5 don’t cancel the free trials HP wins. Plus it takes money off 3rd party ink makers.

300 pages a month is useless to me as I don’t print that much usually. However I want the printer to work when I need it. No dried heads, etc. And what happen on the one month when I need to print 500pages?

I much prefer laser. Once you tasted it, you’ll probably need go back to inkjet.

I have this printer. It does duplex printing, but not duplex scanning. Apart from that, its well worth the money, especially with the £100 cashback

My LaserJet gives me 7000 prints for £27 that the p2015, I paid £15 for the printer second hand on eBay. The quality is very good too.
Price of ink even compatibles for this printer are a joke.
If anyone is going for an older 2nd hand remember to check if it has drivers for your operating system as HP don't release drivers when the next operating system comes out, they just release a new printer & make your old one obsolete. Regardless, any HP printer will work flawlessly in Linux, especially the scanning documents over a network which HP say is just not possible with some models.

Never had any of those, and it's still on it's first set of toners.

All my old inkjets however have been a combination of slow, messy to refill, prone to stripes, cartridges locked down/expiring, or just completely bunged up (the nozzles were part of the printer) and ended up going for recycling.

Nope, inkjets are the equivalent of dot matrix printers in this day and age, very 90's, Oasis v Blur etc.
I have one of these, scanned a few documents this morning straight to pdf on a network share. It's a diverse bit of kit.

I have the previous version (M127fw - bought for £98 'ex-demo' but actually new on eBay). It will help with 2-sided scanning, the software will prompt you to turn the pages and it will deal with ordering the pages in the Pdf. So not automatic but works quite well
ordered yesterday and received this afternoon, now waiting for cashback.
the replacement toner cartridges have a chip, all the manufactures apart from brother use toner chips. i would recommend any equivalent brother laser printer, as they dont use toner chips and instead use gears which you can reset in the full postion, when refilling. toner powder cost about £6 a bottle.

What’s with these newer lasers. They have really low print quantities now. My old old dell can do 3000 sheets for about £30 with compatibles.

These newer ones, even the new dells. Want more than double money for less than half the prints.

What new Dells? They don’t sell printers in Europe anymore, stopped in 2016, I wish they did by far the cheapest colour laser I’ve ever had, my mother in laws is still going after nearly 6 or 7 years! I was looking on HUKD for a Dell alternative for the office? It’s not so much the printer , it’s getting hold of cheap refills, a full set for my Dell cost £25 from EBay..last ages & that’s with 2 daughters printing reams of Uni work..
