Deal price is £239 - title clearly says £129 with £110 cashback, must be super thick not to understand the deal.

If you wanted to be helpful, the least you could've done is re-word it!

How is the cashback delivered? Is it via a prepaid credit card or cheque?

Good deal though. Have a hassle free QNAP myself. Personally speaking it's one of the best investments I've made and would very unlikely of known of such a device if it weren't for the awesome people who post deals here!

What a retarded comment, voted hot, I've got 2 of these and they're the best investment I've made. The cashback is reliable, comes as a cheque and easy to claim, HP are not attempting to diddle you whatsoever.

I think the very fact he said "miss leading" gives you some indication of his ability to comprehend something so simple.

Seems some companies have put the price up by £10 due to the extra cashback.

So Amazon & ServersPlus might do the same before long.

HOT. Shame its not instock for Prime on Amazon though, so might order from ServersPlus with the code MSFREENDUK for free next day delivery.

I knew a Miss Leading, she wasn't to be trusted.

Cheers OP kept missing out on this one so finally bit the bullet.

BTW - triple Nectar points at Amazon....ok no big deal but if you collect - mayas well.

Are Amazon a HP authorised reseller?

Hot hot hot

Still awaiting my £100 cash back... waited 40 of 45 days

If you use ServerPlus (and support the smaller British guy) it works out pretty much the same price as Amazon and you can get free next day with code MSFREENDUK.
I got mine from them and their service was excellent.

Servers Plus were quick.

Ordered with free next day delivery code @ 12:42

Showing as shipped @ 13:12

Quicker then Amazon will be, even though I have prime.

Recommended! And with £110 - hot

Hot from me - I ordered one about 2 weeks ago from servers plus and am very happy with it.

microserver owners thread

cereal . . . . oh wait, wrong thread

This has been on my wishlist for almost a year now. I didn't have the money to begin with and HDD prices were reasonable, now I do have the money and they're rediculously overpriced. Can't bloody win! Will think about it tonight, might be worth grabbing now and putting away until HDD prices drop. Have some heat though!

yeah same here, also didn't want to buy from any other dealers and it's never been cheaper should get mine in the next few days...

Gone for it from amazon, not in a hurry, get 1.5% nectar and also 5% discount (using vouchers through a rewards scheme!) bonus!

ah didn't realize they were a local company. placed my order with amazon - not too fussed with delivery, won't be setting it up until the next week or the week after.

Clearly this is a good deal, but I'm a bit confused over the difference and advantages/disadvantages over a synology/qnap nas box? (I already have a synology ds209). I tend to mainly store media files, pictures (approx 6TB of important images) etc. but link to my Logitech Touch via squeezbox. anyone got a few seconds to give an pointers? ;Presumably a Drobo is different again, just passive storage?

My first thought on reading was surely the OP meant to say "£239 (£129 after £110 cashback)"; because "£129 with £110 cashback" would give you a price of £19 after cashback.

I think that's the job of the OP or Mods - normal souls like us can't change deal titles.

Pretty easy to work out what you meant of course and not a reason to vote cold; I guess you realise leeparsons was just joshing you;)

Is Amazon a HP authorised reseller?

Out of Stock?! ... Expire?

I got my cashback (a cheque) for the older N36L model within 6 weeks.

In stock. Sold by PSL - Packetwalk Systems Ltd

Where is everyone buying their WHS2011 from?

Don't buy unless its from Amazon directly. You may have trouble with the cashback.

Better to get it from here: serversplus.com/ser…421

Then use MSFREENDUK code for free next day delivery.

My cashback cheque took 60 days to arrive for what it's worth.

Spot on, been waiting for this to drop for a few weeks! Thanks OP.

I would be putting unRaid on one of these instead of WHS

They are pretty quiet. My N36L uses Max 45W under load (5 HDs spinning). I keep it on 24/7 so costs approx £50 a year to run.

Hey... if you just looking for a NAS, i suppose your ds209 should suffice. But if you are looking for an "upgrade" to a 4 bay NAS and still want to keep the cost low, the microserver is a superb kit but need lots of setting up unlike a NAS like ds209. And if you want to do more than a NAS (HTPC for instance) then the N40L is a no brainer...

Have fun and btw, after cashback at 129 quid.. I think it's really a good buy...

In my experience, the difference between this and a NAS (Netgear ReadyNas DUO) is HUGE. Really can't describe how big a difference it had made.

Yes probably it took longer to have it properly set up, but the lag, access speed is at a different level to a NAS. Write speed can be around 100MB/s on this, compared to a sustained rate of about 20MB/s on the NAS.

I use this a a file server and a media PC. Works well for both roles.
